calling contest call for a young kid.

Hey guys I know there are some guys on here that call in contest. Let explain I have a 8 year old son that can really call ducks I'm not bragging just because he's my son, well maybe alittle LOL but he can call, some kids pick up things really fast and I tell you what he picked up duck calling I hunt with some guys who enter goose calling contest and they keep telling me to get my son to go into duck calling contest and my son brought his duck call to school for show and tell one day and had a couple teachers who are waterfowl hunters stop in the hallway to listen to him call in show in tell. So I asked my son if he wanted to go to a duck calling contest and ty it and his eye lit up and he said you bet. So here's my question where do I start and what type of call do I get for him he just has some old ones I gave him. Any heelp would be great. Todd

Almost every contest i ever been to ,had a youth calling contest for both duck and goose, so it should be fairly easy to find a contest in your area. You can go to www.callingducks.com they have a calendar of contests, You would need to help him get a routine togather, As far as a call goes i would say the strait street tuned to fit him, it will last him forever and if he continues to call he will already have one of the top of the line calls for competetion. i agree with gary. but he could also try the DMM it has seemed to be a good contest call also. just from what i have seen and heard. tell your kid good luck with that and hope to see him on the stage.

theres a contest in mn here soon,its like the red bear or somin,but if i were you i would get him blowing the dead meat,its alot easier to blow in my opinion
