i have a few more better pics to come but this is all I have for now.... enjoy! Hunted 6 guys in a wheatfield this morning, had a flock come in early and dropped 6 and four of them were double banded.. about an hour later we had a flock of 15 come in and we dropped 8 out of it, gave some comebacks and flagged em and they turned and we dropped another 4 then called back 1 more and killed it and went to go get them and found out that we had 6 more double banders!! we killed a total of 24 geese with 10 double banders and one single! I can say this was my best season opener and probably the best one i'll ever have!!! :D

you're half right - they were on the tarsus of the geese but they aren't part of a USGS tracked study - they were most likely added by a private bander for sight tracking purposes...

That is awesome, congrats. Would be a nice addition to a hunting video if you only had it on tape. What do you do for an encore?

Negative on the non USGS.... Adam Phelps of the Indiana dnr wanted a 3 year study where they put Orange collars on the adults and white ones on the juvies.... they were caught in another part of the state and banded and brought to a few f&W areas! they also have been banding aton of birds throughout Lake, Porter, and Newton counties in Indiana! those collars are just bonus bands along with the original aluminum ones!
