Me and iowamigr8tor are going to blow in the 2-man goose at the Iowa calling comp. in February.
If I grow a pair, I am going to blow in the state duck. I think people's chuckles is what makes winners and losers. I would work on adding single quacks into your chuckle. I can do it, but not with great smoothness like the good competition callers. So that's my tip I guess.

a calling contest is nothing more really than meat calling on steriods.
loud hail calls single quacks feed calling loansome hens and come backs.
but don't forget to put some bottom end into the routine. the beat advice i can give you besides pratice and pratice some more is to listen to other callers take what you like from ther rountine and put it in yours.
i've been in calling in these contests sense 2002 haven't made it past the 1'st round yet should have a couple of times but we wount get into that.
just keep up with it and talk to other callers you pick up some good tips.
good luck
