what is the skinny on the competition inserts? do they allow you to call faster or does it just give you more options. i've been callin short reed for two years, i have a meat grinder which i bought first and this year i bought a smh. i'm no professional but i can't get my smh to blow as fast as my meat grinder so it just sat dusty on the shelf this year. could it just be out of tune?? should i send it in? any ideas or tips would be great.

the flared inserts are more tapered so IE: it makes them louder and have a farther range.

should i send my smh in and see if they can't get it rigged up for me then????

you need to buy a new insert. there like $75.00 but i would send in the call for the insert and they will tune it to your liking. but call the shop you can change insert colors if you like. also it could be the way its tuned mine are pretty fast.

I agree with hunters ridge my two SMH are really fast and I would just try to get your call tuned becaue if you get a competition insert it will be a touch harder to blow and require more air to blow so it will be slightly harder to blow.
