It is not illegal, just unethical, I believe that most of them are actually new bands and not from harvested birds. As prized as bands are, I can't believe guys would part with ones they harvested. But in my opinion buying bands on ebay isan uncool way to fll up your lanyard, and disshonors our sport. Just my opinion.

If I am hunting with someone in thier spot or land I give them any bands I shoot. I just love hunting so much and appreciate it when someone invites me to hunt with them in thier spot.

Gave away my first 3 goose bands ever this year.

Hammer that is different all together, that is respectable. Selling them on ebay to guys that you know are going to put them on their lanyards and claim them is not cool.

Heck for those clowns who will buy them to look good just buy them from a band maker on the net.

It is what is in your heart not on neck that matters. If you have shot bands you know it and feel good about it.

Maybe i should buy up about 50 off them and put them on my sons lanyard so people can see how dumb it is to buy them on ebay. Of course I would tell everybody we bought them on ebay.

I agree that it is not cool, but why do you say unethical. I am not clear on that.

Schemy, maybe I should have stated uncool instead of unethical, I just meant that for someone to buy a bunch of bands and then claim them as ones they killed, or people trying to capitelize on bands and make a profit from them by selling them to those people just isn't right. In my opinion.

i totally agree withyou boys. i shot my first band this year and damn it makes you fell so good to shoot a banded bird. i would never sell my bands. i would see how many lanyards i could fill up in a life time. i will be barried 6 feet under with my lanyards full of bands around my neck. that is for shur.

shot 4 banded birds this season, you couldn't pry them from my fingers or take them off my lanyard, shot a couple banded birds last year too. Most of those bands on Ebay are or never were on birds. When you shoot a banded bird and it goes on your lanyard, then theres a story. I can see buying a band to put on a wall mount just for decoration, as long as thats all it is. Good luck next season..

The only time I want to get $$$ off of my bands is when they say REWARD $100!!!! Why would you ever sell your bands? I can see buyin a band to put on a mount IF the bird you are mounting had a band on it, then you can put the real band on your lanyard. Rather than that if you have to buy your bands to prove somthing to sombody then you have issues. I have shot two banded birds this year and have harvested 3 bands from those two birds!

I dont know how anyone could find satisfaction in buyin a band and claimin they killed that band. It would be like payin someone to shoot a buck for u in deer huntin it wont feel the same as when u kill a buck. I dunno bout u guys but the rush i get just before i pull the trigger is insane. them birds set their wings and start droppin and its a total rush. i have yet to get a band but i can only imagine what thats gonna be like.

on a side note as many of u know the ghg goose fully bodies have bands on their ankles on some of them. had a friend decide at the last minute he didnt want to go with us. so me and the other guy who went took two bands off the geese and put them on our lanyards and went to the kids house. haha he freaked until he read the bands

Probably see Hunter Grounds stolen bandson ebay. You guys hear their club got broke into and they stole 5 guns (3 Benelli's. 1 Bereta, 1 unk.), 200-300 rounds of heavy shot, 16 calls and call bag, and 30 of hunters bird bands. Ouch, some of that is unreplaceable.

wow i had not heard that but that is terrible. If someone snagged my guns and calls and i found out who did it..well it wouldnt be pretty

yea. that is the craziest thing ever. grounds said that he had an old benelli stolen (which isnt replaceable), and all of there bands which arent replaceable either. those theives are fixen to get an ass whoopen, im my mind.
