I tried that and it left white lint all over the heads. Since I did't have 30 pairs of black socks I just bought the ones that they sell.
we actually turned our socks inside out and dont have any lint problems.

yeah and they are easier to get the heads in the socks if you turn them inside out

Greg, my outlook on this topic is why waste the time, lol, especially since you cant put the socks on them when they are wet because it will just pull the flocking off, believe it or not that flocking is pretty durable, what dekes did you get, i just bought a dzn GHG 2003 hunters series dekes, and they all have flocked heads that are 2 years old i believe, hunted pretty hard for two years, and the heads are in incredible condition, i think if you take the time placeing dekes down istead of letting them fall on their heads, or tossing them in the truck that they will last a lot longer than you think, but he who am i just a rookie, we have a lot of GHGs with flocked heads at the Estate where we hunt and they got from the trailer to the field and back to the trailer, we built racks where the foot basses fit so all the dekes stand up and they dont beat against eachother, and we carry them by the heads, toss them at each other, ring the necks when we get bored and hunting is slow, and they look like they have been hunted hard, but they arent missing big spots of flocking or anything, i think the main thing to watch out for is when they get wet they are most vulnerable but other than that, beat the hell outta them make them look used, have you ever seen a live goose with perfect feathers, i know i havent........just my $.02

I got another dozen bigfeet' and a dozen bigfoot floaters, I'm just anal about my blocks. Hauling them around in a 5x8 open trailer with the other three dozen, so I freak out when heads are rubbing on the other blocks thats all. So far, the sock trick seems to help keep the dirt off as well. Thanks bro

Let you guys konw I go to BIG LOTS or Dollar General and buy the mens black nylon dress socks. $2 for 3 pair. Everyone knows how long the necks are on the GHG lookers and they work great. You can shove several in 1 sock when pulling them off during set up and you have them handy when breaking down. Once they are used enough they slip on and off with ease.
