white honker feathers

One of the birds my dad shot saturday had white feathers on it's shoulders. Does anyone have an explanation.

Either that or do you think old age? I have shot 2 or 3 like that before.

I've shot them withh the white at the base of the neck, but not like this. I thought I read a post about this before, but can't find it now.

on other forums i've seen pics like that but alot more white and they call them "Quill" geese

Do you know what part of the country those "quill" geese were in?

the Quill is just a canada goose that mated with a snow goose basically i think, it can be found anywhere. Here in MN i've herd of a couple in the Rochester Area.
