Strait Meat was a term the old market hunters used to use to describe a good kill or big flocks. They were killing for meat, so they would kill a big bunch and it was "Strait Meat".

Haha...I have also noticed people looking at my grey FM hoodie and hat from time to time. Me and Al's buddies from high school always give us sh!t about wearing our Foiles shirts and camo hats around town, but we don't care. Went and watched the BCS bowl game last night with Al and another buddy at a bar and grill.....Al had his Foiles shirt and hat on.

This is funny, because I asked this question, a little over a year ago, when I first started cruzin' this forum. I thought it was something to do with the reeds in the calls.
Anyway, the way the guys explained it to me is as follows: It's an old Illinois waterfowl hunting guide term. Essentially, it means that the weather is right, the wind direction is right, the decoys are right, we are right (camo, calling, movement discipline, etc.), everything is right; consequently, it's a "Strait Meat" deal.
