i have callin geese2.0 and the meatgrinder. today i finally picked up on the moan> (and yes i was sounding like an ill donkey)> the meatgrinder sounds a little high piched compared to the showtime jeff is using in the dvd. am i doing something wrong, is the call not broke-in, or will the showtime give a deeper sound than the meatgrinder? also how long does it take to break-in a call? -thanks for the help

Not an expert but an average caller and my suggestion is to try to walk not run...Get your single clucks, moans, and murmurrs down then try to mix it up. Don't worry about breaking in the call...To the average caller worn guts don't make much of a difference. Just blow your brains out and you'll be surprised what you pick up, record yourself too..Good luck and keep us updated...Try slowly dropping your jaw and you'll find different pitches of the moan..

yeah i feel i have the clucks and the greeting call going pretty well and have been practicing the moan. i will be buying a recorder sometime soon, iknow it will help, but my neighbors think i have lost it!

As stated before, using a recorder is the best advice you can get. You can hear what your doing wrong and what you sound like. As for the showtime, in my opinion, you can seem to get more range out of a showtime than a meatgrinder. Keep practicing and hang in there, it can be frustrating but you'll get it.

I agree with Mr. Skinner. I have both the MeatGrinder and the Showtime, and the Showtime is the loudest call I have heard in a long time. There seems to be a subtle pitch difference between the two, however, that may be just me. You can certainly crank on the MeatGrinder also.

I use my phone to record my calling, then listen to it after. I think goose calling is alot of back pressure proper voice put into the call to get those deeper lower pitched sounds. Hope this helps man!

It could be tuned too high for your liking...how much reed is showing??? The meatgrinder will get low it you have it tuned right and as stated earlier using proper voice infliction.
