Ive found more than one headless rabbit in my overgrown pasture. The body is there, the head is gone. Sometimes the ears are lying nearby. Almost always fresh, like I interrupted the meal. Anyone know what predator eats the head first/only?

Kitty Cat, will eat the head and then go and kill another one.one of the only preadators that kill for fun.after an owl makes a kill he flys up in a tree to eat, coz on the ground he becomes a meal as well.unless there are trees in your pasture, and the rabbits are under the trees, i have to say Kitty for sure...............

I was thinking goatsucker or chupa cabra :p. Did not know that about cats. One more reason to kill the "feral" ones i guess. I would have guessed maybe someone was having fun with there new 17HMR and ballistic tips.

The first time I read this I honestly thought you had a new species or something. Got it now. The infamous cat skunk!

I know a guy that swears he had a pet called a cabbit when he was growing up. Half cat half rabbit.
