Saturday: Hunted a marsh and there was not a lot of birds around on saturday but we managed to get 4 (3 mallards, 1 teal). Forgot my camera at the house so no pics.
Also saturday afternoon got up in the treestand for the second time this year with the bow and I drilled a doe at about 35 yards and it only went 25 yards and dropped. I was pretty siked because I got a nice shot on it as it was coutering away,I got her right in the vitals and it was my first bow kill ever. It was also my second hunt with my new bow.
Sunday: Had a good feeling about the hunt the night befor and it really panned out well. Me and my dad decided to go out to a little flooded timber spot and with all the water that we've had in the past couple weeks the spot was flooded up to the road. We had an excellent hunt and it was really cool how the teal and mallards dived through the trees into the spread. We ended up with 8 teal and 1 mallard. Also I shot a really nice mounter drake GW but we decided to not mount it because we already have a nice one mounted. At about 7:30 we decided to pack up and get set up for some geese at one of our marshes. We got caught with our pants down as a flock of 8 geese were all cupped up and commited until they saw me and my dad out in the water setting decoys. After that it was really slow until about 9 and then the geese started to show up. We managed 2 geese but should have gotten our limits. I roled a goose at about 70 yards as it was flying away. It was awesome. After we were done hunting we butchered my deer. Here are some pics of the birds:
