Well I am sad to say my time has come to leave Alaska and head to the lower 48. I am driving out of alaska and heading to Illinois for a few days on my trip to Fort Rucker Al. havent been back to illinois in about 2 years since the military has kept me away. Just got back from second deployment in the last few years and ready to get on some ducks in the lower 48 where they are plumaged. Lots of the ducks here in alaska still arent changed by the time it gets iced over. Well good luck all and if anyone needs a gun or two (father in law) to help out with anything and to rain some steel let me know. I will be in marseilles which is just south of I-80. So good luck and cant wait to start posting pics.

Hey man. I am from IL, spent 4 years in the Army, and did 2 deployments same as you. I just got out last year. I am currently living in Idaho. Duck and goose hunting here is amazing! Plus all the elk, mule deer, pronghorn and many other big game animal. If I were you, I would hunt all the way down through Canada! At least a couple times on the drive. Well if you need a pit stop on the drive, stop in Idaho and I'll take you out and shoot some birds. If not, I still have a bunch of friends in southern IL that I can put you in contact with that would take you out, if you don't mind driving down that way.

Well would love to hunt on the way down but goin to havea 32 week pregnant wife with me and a 6 year old and a 4 year old with me. So kind of out of the question. but after i leave illinois heading down to alabama so be heading south i ll keep in touch and maybe hit you up for some southern illnois hunts. thanks
