First of all, how about that guy?!?! I can't make up my mind whether I like him or not. Anyway, I watched this guy kill a drake mallard in the air with his home-made bow and arrows, his first duck with a bow. And whata ya know, it was banded!   Tred was saying that he has shot over 300 arrows at flying ducks and this is his first one. Just though I'd share....

After seeing him get a Grizzly with a bow at 8 yds I gained a lot of respect for him so I guess my vote is I like the guy

dont know who your talkin about but if some guy can hit a flying duck with an arrow hes got my vote. its hard enough to shoot an arrow at a spinning texas star but a flying banded duck. HOLY $hit

I could go either way. I think he is an excellent shot with a long bow but at the same time he makes himself out to be a jacka$$ on the shows most of the time. I respect him for what he's done but I don't think I neccesarily like him.

I think for his terms of hunting he is great. I've seen his show where he goes on stalks for days and gets within shooting distance but its just not perfect and he passes the shot. How many guys today would do that. He is a bare bones fair chase wacko and does it his way even if the guides say he's crazy. And when he shot that grizzly at 8 yd. that was incredible. To even have the balls to sneak an animal of that caliber with just a bow. But like i said he is a wacko. Who seen the episode where he was sea duck hunting and he had to pee so he just pee'd in his waders and said sometimes you just dont have the time, its warm though. I think he makes good tv.

Richie, I saw that episode. I believe he said something like this, "I am not proud to admit it, but I just urinated in my waders. Sometimes you jsut gotta keep your body heat in."

I have seen most of his shows and my one pet peeve is he doesn't pass up a shot if it isn't right...not at all....the caribou show he was zinging arrows at running/trotting caribou and he wasn't within 5 yards....he easily could have hit any one fo the other caribou in the line and he wsa just so bad he luckliy missed them all clean...same thing with the mule deer or coues deer show....he is a pretty bad shot....I used to have a Bryon Ferguson bow and I didn't even shoot that much compared to my Mathews and would never miss these shots clean.
he is funny and a great personality....my only beef is he needs a little practice....did you guys see the one where he hunts wild boar with a knife????he is hardcore!!!
off topic, i like the flyway highway guy's or gettin wild with the blondie. the flyway guy's are ok they just act stupid some times and cindy! that chick shoots some big guns and gets up to her a$$ in mud. the best part is seein her go for a swim in her 2 piece 8)

Fun to watch but I do not think I would last 5 minutes in the boat or blind with a guy telling which way we need to do everything
So I guess I like to watch his shows but would not like to hunt or fish with him.

Barry shes Cindy Garrison....lol the only reason i get up early sunday morning lol, and as far as Tred Barta....i love this guy, he does everything the hard way, just like me, no shortcuts, no nonsence, but what i love most our his Views on the way some things are done and the way somethings should be done, now im not saying every guy that shoots a deer needs to carry that deer out of the woods on his shoulders, or he isnt a man, im just sayin there is almost something commercial about hunting, and it needs to go back to the old ways, where it wasnt a Prick Measuring contest, its about sharing the outdoors with others, and epecially children, its not about well i shot a 10 point and you only got an 8, its about you both got really nice deer, i have been hunting white tail for almost 12 years now and i have yet to kill an Antlered deer, not to say i havent had my chances i have just been holding out for something special....always remember its not about pulling the trigger, its about what it takes to get you to the point when you know it is the right time to pull the trigger, or release that arrow........alright well thats just my little rant this morning, i hope everyone has a good day, as for me, im going to go shoot the $H!T out of so clays.......god i hate sundays.....

After he pissed himself I lost respect for him  . It isnt worth ruining $200+ waders, especially when after that piss cools you will be ALOT colder.
id like to see cindy garrison and tred barta hunt together just once. i think she'd smoke him  then he'd have a reason to piss himself..........
i wouldnt say i hate him but he is very full of him self.
that sums it up for me..........................

I am with you. I like the guys attitude about he does it his way and if someone doesn't like that than to F'in bad. taking a wizz in his waders because t was to cold to take them down when he was on a salt hunt was to much. Why would you do it.

Ooooo Cindy! Yes one of my favorite shows! As for the Flyway boys I loved watchin that but then it went to the outdoor channel and all I get is OLN or Versus whatever it is now.
About that show where tred hunted hogs with the knife did anyone notice how many times he came a little close to the dogs with that blade? If i was one of those guides i would've let him have it.

Yeah it was all staged to show what you're supposed to do in an emergency on blue water. I thought it was kinda rediculous and unecessary but hey consider who we're talkin about.

I dont care for tred much.... Yeah its cool about the 8 yard shot...and cool about the banded mallard...and its talent...but he's a little arrogant...

he IS entertaining.....that's all I can say about him...I know people that know him through the fishing world.....everyone says the same thing about him....he is very arrogant ....and not the most knowledgeable or most compitent person on the water....I appreciate the fact that he tries to hunt simple....homemade longbow and makes his own arrows....thats cool.....hunting Grizzly on foot with a longbow again...props to ya buddy...very cool...the whole "traditional" theme of all his bowhunts is very honorable and goes to the deepest roots of hunting in general....
alot of his actions and loud mouth comments...in my mind...not cool and sometimes portrays a very negative impression of hunters and "sportsman" for the millions of people that see it on tv...
so, its all in the interpretation of his shows....if you can let the negative stuff roll off your shoulders and you can pick out the "good" in his shows from the "bad" its "ok"
I think he has good intentions but the way he presents himself sometimes is questionable...

All I can say is Tred is Tred like him or love him!
Cindy who cares if she ever kills anything!
Flyway Highway guys are loud and obnoxious and I turn the channel when those jokes come on tv. Waste of a broadcast on these two.
Just my opinion please don't take it personal but I tell it like I see it.
