Went out on Saturday had a lite rain coming down , I was hunting along a lake geese flying all morning long . Couldn't get any of them to come in to the decoys. Then the wind picked up and blew half my full body's over, my floaters were all tangled up. Tree limbs falling down so I had to pick up and leave. I guess thats hunting , Oh well at least I got to call to some geese , may be Monday they will come over and take a look.

I had one of them days right before they closed out goose season as well. We set up on what i thought was the x for a slaugter and well it wasnt. So we moved to the new location which was just right across the fence into a different feild. so we loaded the decoys in my friends truck and the bilnds in my truck. tried to stay on the field road with mine since its 2wd. well i managed to get stuck on the field road hit a soft spot. neither of us had a tow strap with us to pull me out so we put one of my friends in the truck to drive and me and the other kid who is about my size (6'2 250) to push. well this wasnt workin out either. we had some cinerblocks that we broke up and put under my back tires int he whole that i had dug spinnin and it poped right out. made it 10 feet and was stuck again. the whole time we are doin this there are geese flyin over us and goin on by. couldnt leave my truck where it was cause we figured they would flare and or we would shoot it. luckily a coyote hunter saw us stuck and came and pulled us out. the day ended on a good note because that afternoon we got 4 canadas. im buyin a 4x4 this summer

We have had more than one hunt like that this season. Just stick it out Josh....we stuck it out and finally had a great hunt on Saturday!!!! Just keep one thought in the back of your mind, at this time of year, "PAIRING". The birds around here are already starting to pair up...soft subtle, inquisitive type of calling will get them hooked. Now when they closer to the spread...pick up your speed with a two goose sound (high cluck, low cluck) and some moans......birds will be eating you up brother!!!! Study the birds...pay attention to what gets their heads turning and bobbing...

Yea boys....Saturday morning was tough here too...It was the last day of our migrator season and boy.........EVERYBODY and their brother was out hunting...big problem with skybusters!! we saw guys shooting at birds that were 70+ yards give me a break!! Our honey hole only produced 2 birds in the morning but we stuck it out all day and waited....about 3pm we had a nice group of about 10 that damn near landed on our heads and we finished out or limit!!!!

4x4 is always a good call. Some will argue you truly don't need it.
For me , it is always worth the extra money.

Yeah i agree with ya there. I never had a problem with this truck till i got new tires. the tires i got arent real agressive and dont clean out if they get mud or anything in them. i was really surprised when i got stuck cause i have had the truck in a lot stickier situation then that and got out no problem. in the process of either gettin a 4x4 ranger or s10, hopefully have enough for one this summer.
