I have a JVC specifically for hunting. It cost me around 850 and it is small and handy. Also it comes with a feature called "Low Light Plus." It is good for them early moring hunts, especially for gobblers and deer. I got it at Circuit City.

I got a Canon ZR500, for Christmas, costs right around 300, comes with lots of bells and whistles, and its small and compact, the only thing that sux is its Blue and Silver, so it shines bright, but ive filmed two hunts and a day at the sporting clays range, and it takes incredible video, also has a wind blocker option, that sort of muffles muzzle blasts which is pretty cool, i wish we had a way to upload videos cause i would post some on here.....ill see if i can make some small clips up and upload them to Photobucket....

being a college student on a budget, we use some sony camera ( not sure the model name) that records to dvd's so we can edit it pretty easy. it only cost like 300 and has nite shot, and a feature like the wind blocker that someone mentioned which is good on windy days and for muzzle blasts.
