This is gettin ridiculous... buddy wants to be a guide but doesn't know where the geese are? Really... that's like saying I want to build houses but don't know where to get wood. If you want to know where the geese are, get up at the crack of dawn and drive around. Find some flocks. Follow them. See where they land. Get permission to where they land.... pretty simple stuff here. Try it out - it may help you in your career.... :(

I just drive around untill i see a flock, follow them and see where their landing, ask for permission and if you get the go, scope out the birds and where they're at etc. in the field or whatever it is!

i am guessing here but i dont think there are alot of canadas in ky.....again i wasn't tryin to b a prick , just trying to underline the fact that being a great guide u'll have 2 obtain spots and locations that hold the birds , as well as spend countless hours developing great relationships with land owners and have a few sets of tires laying around to replace the worn out 1's after all the countless hours of searching and following those birds from roost -feeding locations , lofting areas , and back 2 a roost ..... mayb a more specific ? would get a better response .... no offense meant ....

You're gonna need thicker skin than that to get by in the outfitting business junior.

In reality, the advice you received was good and you didn't get pounded too bad.

It's not anybody's responsibility but yours to get you a good 1 - 2 day hunt. The problem with giving out info that will get you a good 1 - 2 hunt is that pretty soon you're jumping all over other people's stuff trying to make it your own or run your outfitting biz there.

The guys that are successful at this stuff are usually the guys that work the hardest at it - you want to get it done, get out and get after it.

I'm feeling generous so I'll tell you what I know, but it'd be a pretty long drive to get here...Colorado's front range has been getting a TON of new geese for the last few days. Today it's cold and snowing - it's game on. I'm going to be hunting outside of the town of Windsor this AM before work for the next 3 days - should be lights out. Eastern Colorado is getting hot too, but mostly smaller geese in BIG wads - gonna need a rig and a half to get it done and you'd better either be on the X or have a good group of callers.

Out here on the east coast striper fishing is very big and there are a few internet forums that are similar to this one such as stripers online. If someone was to ask a question like that about spots to catch fish they would have gotten a much more severe reaction than the one you received. People on this website seem to be pretty respectful of each other and don't run off calling each other mother Fers. I put serious miles on everyday scouting birds and when someone asks me where im killin them i take it very offensively. Myself and alot of the others on this website work too hard scouting to be giving out spots. I think the reaction you got was pretty appropriate.

Crab Orchard Lake Federal Refuge has about 1000 or so geese on it. It costs 2000 dollars a day to hunt it, but, you can only hunt it every 5-10 years haha. J/K.
Seriously though, how far are you from Paducah? Shoot me a PM and when the geese show up you can come up for a few days and we'll kill some geese.
