Has anyone ever seen or got an albino mallard. I seen one 4 years ago when I was guiding. We were in a cornfield, combined corn to be exact. This hunt was awsome because the farmer left a strip of corn 50yds wide and 200 yards long and we stood in the corn. Needless to say we hammered the hell out of them. Thew just couldn't resist the 3 mojo's going.
We had a flock of 400+ mallards comming in and I had to blink a few times to make sure I was not dreaming when I seen that albino. Could of shot it, but I was the guide and I was not going to educate that may birds and possibly ruin the rest of the hunt.
That littler bugger flew by me 5 times and the one time it was only 35yards. Talk about taunting the crap out of you. Then to top it all off the albino and 200 of the ducks landed 65 yards away and started feeding towards us. It was definitly one of those days were you need to have a video camera but of course we didn't. It was all I could do not to shoot it like a turkey. Now I wish I hammered it, havn't seen one since. Anyways post replies and let me know kinda interesting. 8) 8) :)

One little creek we hunt in town with a Goshawk had one in it 2 winters in a row. The hawk caught at least 80 birds a year there and never that albino. We wanted it bad.

sounds like a cross bread farm duck!
had one in my area last season though a little differant, had a green head just like a mallard, all white body and wings and a drake mallard tail, orange feet and this thing could fly. havent seen it lately so i dont know if someone shot it last season or if it migrated.

Don't blame ya, I was just thinking how nice it would look on the wall. Plus the braggin rights alone would make it worth it. I don't think many people can say they shot an albino. Damn I should have shot it. It was Right there too. That damn thing called morals and hunting ethics going through my head didn't help at all either.

Nooooooo this was no farm duck, I know what farm ducks and geese look like.(there fun to shoot too because there usually dumb as a stick. Man this duck came so close I could see it's eye balls. They were that pinkish red color that albinos get. Perfectly white body and head, orange feet just like a regular mallard and those funky lookin' eyes to boot.

We saw a duck this year in a central Minnesota town when we came in to get lunch while pheasant hunting. Near as we could tell it was a mallard, wood duck cross. It had a white body, mallard rear, and a wood duck head (fully colored). That is the strangest duck I have ever seen.

Are you positive about the eye color, because i hate to bust the bubble here but a TRUE albino duck actually has blue eyes. Ive seen pictures on other forums too.

Yeah I've seen some pretty weird ducks hunting on farm ponds and geese as well. Seen what looked like a ginormous speck but he didn't have the specks on his belly and he probably would've weighed nearly 20 pounds!
