I killed one last year that had a rubber collar on it. NO LEG BANDS, and the goose looked really old.

This isnt the picture I wanted, but this is of one that looks just like it. I have seen 6 or 7 other birds like this, from VA to NC. This picture is in NC

This is a pic from last year, my buddy got the band i didn't. The sucky deal is the band actually snapped in half when the goose hit the ground, and thats why he's holding it like that.

Thats awesome nothing like a pile of white with yellow around there necks...What kinda setup do you guys use for snows.....

got tons of them down here in DE, but you need 1000+ dekes and be literally on the X to get them in....i watched them fly over me all season long on state land flyin in and out of the refuges...totally awesome never seen so many snows and so few canadians...

I know several of you guys are a lot younger than me, and there is nothing wrong with that, but I was wondering if any of you have ever seen the old style neck collars? The first one I ever saw was one my brother harvested in 1972. It was an aluminum (or stainless) neck collar with orange, or flourescent orange, material (tape?) on it. Most of the orange was worn off. It had a U.S F/W leg band too. I know there were several others harvested that day by other hunters too. We were on a refuge line in North Dakota pass shooting the geese coming off the refuge. The other hunters that walked out of there had several of them too. Man, that was a long time ago. Thanks.

H-unit, yea I dunno about that dropem guy.

Super delicious. That red neck collar on that blue brings back night mares. What would have been my first goose of any kind, was a red neck collared blue when I was like 11. It was a loner and I dunno how I missed but I did. The guy next to me smoked it with his 10 ga. None of us saw it was collared until the dog brought it back to us.

All the papers i've got back were banded in Manitoba, so i guess if you've got good eyes you could see the banding facility
2 of 'em did not have leg bands, and its kinda hard to get info on them from the usgs folks, so i bet they were banded in the field right across from ours
