Well, i had a good reservation at a pretty decent refuge for yesterday so my dad and a few friends and myself headed up there to see if we could help reduce the duck population. The weather was nice, 5MPH breeze (needed more) and off/on rain. We went to a spot i had found last week and got set up. Every other person out there had the same spot in mind and sat right in our back pocket, seriously there were 3 guys not 50 yards from me. If i leveled one off thier way it would have been curtians.
Needless to say with all the itchy fingered refuge hunters out there we could not work birds like i usually do. Anything within 70 yards was shot at by half the damn pond. It was ugly.
We did manage to scratch out a few. My first bird of the day dropped right in the open water and never surfaced. Damn thing pulled off a James Bond escape on me. It's probobly in Mexico drinking a margarita.:p That was the way my day went. I had been up for 24 hours straight when shoot time started (due to work) so being groggy might have played a factor in my day. None the less we ended up with 9 and 2 lost. Still had a blast though. Good times all around and we found another spot to try next time.
Going to another refuge on Saturday, so stand by for more pic's.
