Foiles Waterfowl Weekend 2006 version!!

I expect to see everyone at the Foiles Waterfowl Weekend on May 20-21....it's a good time w/ some good people. There's tons of booths and great food. Plus...it's an excuse to get away! Hopefully we'll see some new competition callers faces and some people new to the Strait Meat family. Hope to see ya there!!!!

Hey what all kinds of calling competitions go on during that weekend,I never been but I will be there this time,Im getting into this competition thing now.Does anyone know whos gonna be at the mississippi valley calling classic event from foiles team,I m gonna compete there too, gonna get whipped but o well

I will be their on one of the days at least, the 20th is my 11th wedding anniversary, I suspect my wife will want me to stay in town atleast that day :wink: But we will definately be their one of the days.

Last year there were several contests on the junior and open levels. There was the Illinois State Duck, 2-man duck, I believe the Two Rivers Regional duck, Illinois State Goose, 2-man Goose.....man..i've slept since then...but I know they had these plus junior contests...I'll have to look back and see what other contests there were. There's some good competition at these contests on the duck and goose side. It would be a good deal to attend especially as a beginner to hear these guys blow awesome routines. Plus...Jeff gets some very experienced very fair judges for his contests. All in all...a great weekend!

Hey Migrator00, where is this at? Anywhere close to Iowa? Im heading to the Iowa Calling Competitions on the 18th and 19th. Dont think Im gonna call, but just curious if you're gonna be there? I missed it last year.

I wouldn't think Pittsfield should be that terrible of a drive for ya. It's like an hour or better north of me in Jerseyville. It's not to far from Quincy Illiniois. I'll be there with bells on...hopefully this year I won't be workin' it so I can concentrate on callin'. I will help out though if need be...that's what friends are for :)! takes less than an hour from carrollton i know a short cut, just gotta cut through downtown nebo and up the pittsfield black top :D

KillerMiller mapquest says it would take 5+ hours from my dads, so add another hour on that. But that is mapquest :wink:.

Just don't cut through Detroit, if you do make sure you are going the speed limit. I got a ticket om my way to the shop back in November.
He has a pretty nice set up over their, and if you are a bowhunter also, their is a nice Mathew's/Hoyt shop and Range in his Backyard. I think it would probably be worth the drive.

Well..sounds like plans have changed to Memorial Weekend. I don't know if it will be like last year or not...but there was a fun party afterwards in pleasant hill w/ a band and beer tent. Just a little incentive :)

Hmmm...I think if I took that approach w/ my pheance, I don't think i'd make it to the wedding in Sept. Either that, or she would marry me just to give me misery! I think Jeff would understand that it's an important weekend..but I don't think his daughter would :). I'd rather not get the dog sh*t kicked out of me by her! Sounds like the camera's will be rollin' at the Waterfowl Weekend! He plans on doin' a whole deal on that weekend on his new show. Plans for the show sound unreal...I suggest dish boys :)!
