2 days of back luck!!!!!!

I dont know where to start. I'll start off sayin that I invited Gary Crafton and his buddy Victor up to Missouri for some late season goose hunts. Our first hunt should had been a slaughter but needless to say around 10:00 a.m. we decide to get something to eat since the geese wernt flying as we planned due to the 9 degree weather. Well while we were eating 13 geese lit in our decoys. So we go back out and hunt till noon then we decided to pack up and head to another spot to hunt some banded geese in the evening. right after we packed up about 30 geese landed right where we had our decoys set up. that really topped our day off. We kinda just laughed it off and headed to our next location for our evening hunt. well we got set up in our banded field and we all had our blind lids open and one guy was out of his blind getting something our of his blind bag and to our left was a flock of geese. they never made a sound. so we started calling and the geese started to work, they wanted in our spread bad. they had thier wings locked and were comming around with the wind but after a few looks they knew something was not right and the headed out. 95% of the geese that fly that field are banded so that really was a downer for us. we still kept our heads up for the next morning and evening. the next morning we headed to Illinois to a field where 800 or so geese were using. again with the cold weather the geese never flew. they stayed on water to keep their holes from freezing. well we had one last chance so we headed to our evening field in Illinois, and it was what we needed. the geese started flying and we had a group of 6 come in and we brought 5 down that were stone cold dead and the 6th goose sailed off hurt. we had another group come over but we never called the shot, our mistake. around 1000 geese came out that evening. overall it was our mistake, if we would not have made mistakes we would have slaughtered geese. but thats what hunting is about. better luck next time!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for having us up Matt, I guess it all started when Victor which was filming forgot his boots , and left them in our truck which was about an hour from where we rode with you to hunt , so hunting or filming or whatever, in house shoes when it's 9 degrees and the wind blowing about 15 miles per hour, would have to be uncomfortable doing anything lol .. so that's what happens when you go warm up, the geese lite in your decoys . We had a great time, despite all the mishaps, saw some beautiful country , had a lot of laughs, ate some good food and despite everything else we killed some geese , so to sum it up that's a good trip, that's why it's called hunting , instead of killing, thanks again for having us up there hope to get back that way soon...

yeah it was a good time having you guys up. to bad the season ends in 2 weeks. but we still have the snow geese to work on. hopefully we can get some good footage on film on that refuge deal we got in feburary. that should be a good time with high kill numbers.
