I was trying to think of my most memorable hunt from this past season and decided on this hunt and its pic.I was on a scouting mission when I came across this paddock .My dad and I hunted it the previous evening and kill our limit of 30 mallards and since I had the next day off I decided to return in the morning .I arrived to major fog and in this area it normally hangs around all morning .Fortunatly it burnt off early and the mallards and parries poured in .I had my 15 mallard limit and 5 bonus parries in a hour .I was back home early for once much to my partners supriese .

Great pics! Man those "parries" are some pretty birds, they would make a very cool mount.

Nice hunts! Does NZ or austrailia do any banding on the waterfowl? Just curious how other areas do things?

We do some limited banding mostly in the north island where there are a lots less ducks .60 odd parries were banded in my region this past season and they were the first for 20 odd years .I personally have killed one band that was from another area .My dad and I were out and a pair came in and I shot them both a suprise I had my first ever band .I was happy to go home right them but we stayed and killed 30 mallards .
