I'm thinking about getting some fullbody goose decoys but im not sure which ones to get. The GHG's look great but i hear the paint chips easily. The bigfoots are big and thats what i need since i would only buy like a dozen of them and they are very durable. Any suggestions????? :?

how would you carry them if you walked to a spot....im only about 200 yards from my hunting spot so i dont need someone to drive me...i would drive if i could....
we use a 10x20 tarp, throw all the deeks on the tarp ,fold in half use two guys to pull it to the feild . works great with a little dew on the ground.

Im going to be the minority here and say GHG. The paint is fine if you protect them. Put them in slotted bags and they will last fine. I like bigfoot but they need to catch up with the other decoy manufacturers and offer more poses and better paint schemes. You will notice you have 3 choices of poses with BF. With GHG and other manufacturers you have more than 8 different poses to choose from. Also the Paint on the GHG decoys is getting better. The older ones had problems with the paint chipping but the newer ones I believe are more durable. It is all about taking care of the decoys. When you stand over a 1/4 of a mile away from the decoys they should look REAL, paint, motion, flocking, etc. When I stand 1/4 of a mile from Bigfoots they look like black blobs, there is no detail in their paint. If you look at a flock of GHG decoys they look real.
Up until this year I was going to buy BF and then at the last minute I changed my mind and went with GHG, much happier with that decision.

I agree, the ghg's are the way that I'd go.For all the reasons Iowamig8tr said.A ton more poses, way more detailed, lighter and they look like geese. You said you wanted a dozen so buy the ghg's and two six slot bags and you can carry your stuff out in one trip.I'm not knocking the foots becuase there's been more geese killed over them then probebly any other decoy but the ghg's have really taken over now and are catching up fast.

i vote bf and theres a couple ways to carry them
take a 20 foot pole and slide them on through the feet or use a 2 man decoy bag or a sled/cart thing

I am going to vote the GHG. They look the most realistic of the two of them. Like Iowa said if you use the avery 6 slot bags then they will last a long time.

Tried the pole and Bigfoot combo, not the easiest thing in the world to do. If you have to walk into a muddy field it is a pain in the A** trying to keep that thing on your shoulder and walking in the grease. The bags weight nothing! I can carry my Finisher, Blind bag, gun, and a dozen decoys no problem.

I like the 20 foot pole idea then just have two guys carry em and whoever else carry the guns/gear or just the gear

If you want realism and take care of them go with GHG. If you don't want to take the time to take care of them go with BF. I hunted with a guy last two days over his dekes (BF/FA) and they aren't even comparable to the GHG in the field. You CAN kill geese over any of these dekes but I just did not like the postures or colors of the BF whatsoever. This is the last weekend and we'll be huntin over GHG in that field this time.
i would get bigfoot the feet wont break and dont glare like GHG

bigfoots no doubt, my buddies ghg's are crackin from the cold and the paint is chippin, big foots are so much more durable. Also if you have the old bigfoots i high recommend buying the flocking kit from cabelas. It was easy to do and i believe makes a huge difference.

GHG glare and crack from the cold? We have 11 dozen that neither glare or have cracked from the cold. The paint does chip easy if you don't take care of them and we had a foot base break from a goose landing on it. I hunted last day of season with a guy using BF and his dekes couldn't handle the wind. Three seperated occasions birds flared and we looked out and one of his dekes was ass up. Not one of our GHG fell over. Plus the GHG are so much more realistic in paint scheme and posture than the BFs. I'm not all that happy with the GHG though but there aren't any other dekes out there to match them. Hopefully these new FA's comin out this year will be impressive.

One thing you are right about is that the bigfoots seem to tip in the wind.

GHG with motion bases. hunted over some this weekend man the wind was blowing and those things added so much movement it was sweet.

I would go with GHG any day over any other decoy. Cant beat the paint and the movement. Just got to take a little more care with them.

Hey, guys what if I told you, that you could have the best of both worlds.
You take the correct paint, and poses, with GHGs and combine that with the durability of BF. Both having flocked heads. What do you get.....
The new HD's by Final Approach.
These new decoys are awesome. I hope anyone in the market for decoys, will wait and check these bad boys out. As far as carrying them and storing them, 6 slot bags are the best thing out there. I am gonna be redoing my trailer this year, so that all of my decoys are stacked in the trailer in bags. This is a great way for storage, because it protects your investment for many years of use. Plus when it comes time that you can't drive out to the field, you can sling them over your shoulder and walk them out there.

I'll say GHG if you take care of them, decoys are'nt cheap and you should take a little care with your investment unless money isn't an issue, plus put them on motion stakes and your spread comes to like and looks really good, had no problems with them.
