FINALLY!!!!!! FINALLY we have some birds! THANK GOD! Took a chance on a pond that the landowner said was holding some birds...key being "some" birds. Well...that chance payed off huge! Saw close to 750 - 1000 geese and same numbers of ducks...GREAT DAY! 3 guys...15 geese in YOUR FACE and a little BLING to boot!!! Last bird of the day - on it's way out of the spread...and I smoked him! Orange tarsus and a leg band....couldn't believe it when the dog brought it home!!!

We could have killed a ton more geese if we had some more guys....and the ducks (had they been in season...)....it would have been an absolute slaughter....

Attached is a pic of myself and my brother-in-law (Adam) with our birds...momma had the camera, so I didn't get my buddy Tim's birds...

See the orange tarsus on my lanyard....I couldn't hold off on until the pics (what can I say...1st band of the year for me!).

Here is Adam with the birds...

SHOULD be a great late season...now that we have some weather and some birds!!!!

Thanks Barry....I am still waiting on my hunting partner Jack to send me the rest of the pics from the early goose, duck, and regular goose seasons. My camera was on the fritz for a while and with the baby...well, momma had it most of the time. So, Jack took most of the pics...as soon as I get them you can bet I will post them. There are multiple 20+ goose hunts, one 39 bird hunt, a couple 20+ duck hunts and multiple in the teens duck and goose hunts....I just need to get them from Jack...sound like a beat down might be in order - what do you think  ????

He's around....just being lazy about downloading the friggin' pictures and sending them to me.

He didn't hunt with us yesterday because he headed home to celebrate his son's birthday with the family in Pittsburgh...

If I can put away a little cash...I am going to see if I can get his eyes cerfed and his hips done...if everything pans out I am going to breed him eventually!!!!!

Hey Mark, me and neil talked to jack, he said you guys have been crushing them in new york, how much is the license up there and is it worth hunting over pa? Thanks

Mark Spence
01-22-2007, 10:01 AM
I wouldn't say we crushed them in NY...we killed a bunch up there this year. In years passed, I would say NY was better than PA...but this year, PA was better to us than NY.

Out of State license to hunt WATERFOWL only in NY is like $60...plus you need to get your HIP number either off the website or over the phone.

Good job Mark. I have never seen a neck tube or a tarsus band get shot. Some single bands and a few double blingers though.
