I believe the cut-off for the youth deal last year was 16 or 17 (16 I think)....there are junior contests for both duck and goose...
Practice up, come on out and tear up the stage brother!!!!

No problem Barry....I still haven't heard anything solid for sure. It appears that it will be the weekend before Memorial Day weekend this year. The duck contest will probably be on Saturday and the goose on Sunday...if they have the same contests as years passed...junior duck, two man duck, Two Rivers Regional Duck and I believe IL State Duck. As far as goose...junior goose, two man goose, and IL State Open Goose.
Not to mention they have several vendor tents set up, the shop is open all day both days and the have concession vendors set-up. It really is a great time...on Saturdays, Jeff usually has a pig roast at the local bowling alley with a band outside...talk about fun    !!!
Anyway...if you haven't been to it...you are missing out for sure!!!! Come and check it out this year...get your feet wet in the contest scene and witness some of the best duck and goose calling and callers in the country!!!!

At Strait Meat HQ in Pittsfield, IL.....
Do people normally get hotel rooms or anything that come long distances and if so, where are the nearest ones?
Is camping an option?

The are a lot of small motels and B & B's.....We stay at a local motel - $50 a night for Friday, Saturday and Sunday night....$150 divided by 3 or four guys isn't bad at all!!!

It is definately a good time, and the party on saturday night isquite the time. The hotel room is a must. Oh and I can attest to Smoke's spending issue, he darn near melted the magnetic strip off that card he was running it through the machine so much.
If you haven't been before, you should definately make arrangements to be their this year, and maybe we can get Jeff and Rascal Flatts back up on stage.
Any suggestions on a hotel to book?

Camping isn't bad out there. That's what we did and had a blast. There are two campgrounds in Pittsfield that I'm aware of. And the party on Friday night kicked ass. Jeff was rockin the drums.
