Thanks for any help.

I would go with a Strait Meat Mallard or a Mean Street
if u need the volume and also like a good a call that will run a mean mid range as well as high ........... i suggest the MEAN STREET !!!!!!!!!!!
i'm not a big fan of loud calls my self even when i'm in a situation where i should use 1 but the mean street really impressed me alot with it's range ......
an acrylic strait suzy as well as the poly would work for u as well as a strait street or strait meat mallard , but out of all of them i really like that mean street .{ Randy Fox will sure back me on this 1 }
and to top it all off !! everyone should own at least 1 timber rattler:):):)
RNT Daisy Cutter in acrylic its sweet i bought one not to long ago and i can get really LOUD yet nice and soft for when the birds get in close. doesnt stick much either

For open water, do yourself a favor and give a try to the Mean Street or to the Wide Open in the BGB line. You wont' be disapointed with both!

If you are just starting out and want a good "do it all call" that wont break your bank go with the Suzie. That is by far one of the most user friendly and versitile calls i've blown and i own all of the FMI duck calls. Once you get it down and want something more move on from there. But i promise, that call will never leave your lanyard. My wood/poly Suzie sit's in the #1 spot on my lanyard.

Single or double reed or one of both and which situations would you use one or the other. All I've used is a DR-85 so double is all have "any" experience with which was very little LOL. Just wondering what are the advantages of one over the other?

You'll get more volume from a single reed setup while a double reed will be lower and duckier.
