Is that Miner Goose Band (on the right) I see there Barry??? If so....CONGRATS!!! that's a true goose hunter's treasure!!!!
I am not sure if Bolen makes the HS lanyard...but the braid style (cobra) is the same. The biggest difference I see between the HS and the Bolen is the material used to make the lanyard....don't get me wrong Barry I am not putting down your lanyard...but the HS seems to made of more a "shoe lace" type of material, while the Bolen is parachute cord (no mold, no rot, etc.)....please correct me if I am wrong....Muddy Dog Lanyards are made of parachute cord as well as the Bolens...

ive picked up the bolen and the hunters specialties, the material looks exactly the same. its a flat style cord not shoe lace, i was told that bolen made them. sorry i didnt shoot the miner goose band (bummer) got a buddy in kingsville thats related to the miner family and he new i was a miner fan! so he sent it to me its a 2004, but i did shoot a 2004 greanhead in 2004 it was banded 8 days earlier (behold i come quickly,REV, 22-7)..way cool. if you look at the bottom of my laynard i have a 1933 and a 1939 miner goose bands i got from the same guy. the verses are awsome; he careth for you 1st. PETER 5:7 and, let us consider one another HEB, 10:24. they give me quite alot of insperation

Good deal on Miner Bands....Hook a brother up!!!! Could use one as a "prop" to dead mount I am going to have done.
Oh...and I shot a Drake Greenhead (December 26, 2005) with a Miner Band having the inscription of "Behold I Come Quickly"!!! Banded in 03 or 04 in November...... Coincidence  ?????
As for the lanyards...I just remember when I worked at Gander a few years back, the HS lanyards were made of a thicker, yet lighter, material (much like a shoe lace). The material was a bit rough on the outside versus the smoothness of the parachute cord....who knows, things change so quickly!!!! Point is....PARACHUTE cord is the way to go for lanyard material...that's all!!!!
Dave at www.ducklanyards.com makes a sweet lanyard, also out of parachute cord. He will make it however you want it. Mine is totaly diff than what you see on his web site. Awsome customer servise also.
mark see what i can do, anything in particular you lookin for? year or verse.
PS they sent out quite alot of birds with that same verse, id have to do some research on how may for that year.
I'll send ya a pm later today....cool

Aquapod, you stole Chad Beldings' band!!! The sportsman's chapstick holder. If you've seen Zinks Running Traffic video, Chad claims that the chapstick holder is a band that has writing on it but its so worn you can't read it. He should prolly be a comedian instead of a pro hunter.

he also has a banded owl, but the funniest part is where hes like i was on this dove hunt in argentina and there were 250 guys, um travis muehler was with me, but on the first volly i said get em. and only the first hundred guys heard me say get em, so they got em, and the guys down at the other end thought i said get and they got em, and by the time it was all said and done there were between 4000, and 5300 doves dead. all of them banded.... i dont know how he can keep a strait face doing all that goofy stuff.

Here are a couple of older shots of my lanyards, the calls have changed a bit, only Foiles calls on them now. Anyway I made both lanyards myself. Hard on the fingers, but worth the effort.

their is an old post about this somewhere on here, but I found a website that had info on the different braids, it was actually for making bracelets and junk like that, I just re-applied it to 550 cord and braided them up at the firehouse over the course of a few shifts. I am proud of them, they turned out better than I expected.
