H-Unit's post got me to thinking. What does peta really do for the animals so I went on their site and found some things,
Here is an interesting link I found.

“It’s fine for you to believe in animal rights, but why do you try to tell other people what to do?”

Everybody is entitled to his or her own opinion, but freedom of thought is not the same thing as freedom of action. You are free to believe whatever you want as long as you don’t hurt others. You may believe that animals should be killed, that black people should be enslaved, or that women should be beaten, but you don’t always have the right to put your beliefs into practice. The very nature of reform movements is to tell others what to do—don’t use humans as slaves, don’t sexually harass women, etc.—and all movements initially encounter opposition from people who want to continue to take part in the criticized behavior.

So now we are just as bad as husbands that beat their wives and we are all also racists.

Does this sound like a good organization for america

PETA has repeatedly attacked research foundations like the March of Dimes, the Pediatric AIDS Foundation, and the American Cancer Society, because they support animal-based research that might uncover cures for birth defects and life-threatening diseases. PETA president Ingrid Newkirk has said that “even if animal research resulted in a cure for AIDS, we would be against it.”

very good point.

so i'll add another.

if PETA are against sportsman, hunting, fishing, traping.
are they vegatarions?????? think about this, do most of you know how the animals we eat are killed? heres an instance in point "turkey's" they are put into a very large room with a half inch of water on the floor and shocked to death with 440 volts. i know this for fact. my ex brother inlaw worked for (sara lee/bil mar foods) and that was his job, from there they are takin to a bleeding line IE: a conveyor where the are hung from there feet still half alive sometimes and takin down the line still struggeling where there heads are removed VIA a very large saw. is this humane? no. we as hunters take our game ethicaly and euthinize our wounded game as humanely as possible to prevent suffering. so PETA whats your standpoint on this are you going to block our trucks and employee's that put food on eveyones table.

The best thing to do is to write your senators/ congressmen and maintain a positive image when afield. If we follow the law to a T then they have no recourse... I would love to really rip an activist a real good one once though; but in the words of my grandmother" YA GOTTA KILL "EM WITH KINDNESS"
Join the NRA, DU, SAFARI INTERNATIONAL,DELTA WATERFOWL, all standing up for up for us. Above all rash actions will get us further sunk, just my two cents

just remembered this, about 14 yrs ago we had an activist come out on the pier we were fishing on and started harassing all the guy's steelhead fishing. that it was cruel for us to hook fish because the hooks made the fish suffer. long story short this guy came acrost my bud fishing a few guy's from me, let me say wrong thing to do!!!! brutas my buds nick name is 6' 4" 380 lbs and dont take no crap, picked this guy up by the back of the neck and had him almost a foot off the ground, and carried him to the other side of the pier and dropped him in the drink.........needless to say this was november and the water was a very nice temp of 42 degrees  had the local police and the CO's on the pier.after taking statements from everyone they handcuffed the activist and took him away for hunter harassement. and gave my bud a warning

in H-units post. Since I am a coyote (dog) hunter and she had a dog with her I would have shot the dog if it had given me a broad side shot. "officer I thought it was a coyote coming in to attack me so I shot it"

Woah there boys, Im just sayin' that when your local law enforcement is not going to back you up, that tact rather than knee-jerk reactions are better than the far more hilarious event that Barry spoke of. In MD we have Anti-Anti hunter laws on the books and I hope that I never have to see some "goodie-too shoes" parading through my rig. We have a right to persue our quarry and should be proud of our lifestyle! Keep the seasons long and bag limts within' reason

see this kind of thing chaps my butt, if that woman ingird had a child that had a birth defect and or cancer that could possibly be cured from animal testing you better bet you best dollar she is all for it. these people don't see what other people in that kind of situation have to go through in life.Let someone stand in front of them and say you are dieing and there is only one thing that will help us help you and that is to test cures on animals yeah she would stand back and say well i guess it is my time. i don't think so. i mean come on people that is silly, she would be the first one in line. as far as the peta against hunters goes i think that is so stupid go get a jod or a hobby find something better to do with your time than to bother other people doing what they love. if some one ever came up to me and got in face about what i love to do well lets just say they really won't like me when i get through with them. one last thing before i get to worked up hunters as general rule are the first ones to stand up and take care of habitat we don't go around trashing places and tearing stuff up for other people to come and clean up after us.

i hate PETA and any anti hunter but i used to smash the face in of anyone who disagreed with me and after multipul encounters with law enforcment and many anger managment sesions i have realized to turn the other cheek. its ok to inform but you should try not to get to hot headed in your debates when you do you just look like an ignorant jerk, honestly the best way is to chill out and explian to them your side even though your fighting the urge to bust there lip open :x

I think for the most part we treat animals damn good our waterfowl like barry said shoot them and give them the least painful death and its not like were wastin em. Our dogs we treat them like kings.
