Smoke, do you hunt near Nauvoo Illinios at all? I live in Des Moines with my mom, but my dad and the rest of family live in Ft. Madison. I grew up hunting the Mighty Miss with my dad, grandpa, and uncle. I've been going ever since I was about 8 I think. I got to shoot when I was 11 and killed a few ducks that fall. And I've been trying to be akilling machine ever since. There's nothing better than waterfowl hunting in the whole world. I hope to be a hunting guide someday, maybe even have my own service. I also hunt a few marshes here around Des Moines. There's alot of geese up here later in the season usually. Had a good late season this year. First special lateseason goose I can remember in Iowa. WOuld still be whackin' 'em in Illinios with my dad if they didnt close it cause the quota filled. Im done yackin'

I hunt the front range of Colorado between Denver and Fort Collins. When you see Jeff out in CO with Stillwater, that is the area we hunt. The hunting can be great. This year has been a little off, but there are birds to hunt here for sure. Since I am just starting out I am learning the method and patterns of these geese.

I mainly hunt Carlyle for ducks and snow geese. The hunting can be pretty good, you just have to do your homework before the season. Snow geese are abundandt most of the season, but they get real smart real quick. Honkers are few and far between, and I usually hunt the St. Louis resident flock. The honkers in Edwardsville/Troy/Glen Carbon are abundant.

I hunt all over the state of Illinois, but primarily frequent the CIQZ and SIQZ. I hunt over big water most of the time, and occasionaly in fields. I plan to make it up north to Braidwood this coming season myself, got a hook up for some private land up their recently. Also got a hook up for canton area for next year. And hope to maybe spend a day or two in a blind with smoke as well.

We hunt in northwest Indiana, about 10 miles south of Lake Michigan, prefer field hunting.
The reason field hunting is prefered is that I swim like an anvil.
