Went out this evening to check on my goose hunting spot. When i got there all 5 dozen of our decoys had been stolen. I hunt with my brother and 2 other friends that are brothers i cant believe people have the balls to trespass and steal peoples stuff, sorry to whine just needed to vent a little bit, what a way to end the last 4 days of our goose season.

That Totally Sucks man.....everytime i drive buy a field full of Decoys on a Off day, or since the season is over, i kinda ask myself. WHY, whys leave something so important out where someone can just take it...and not too many people are gonna stop and ask whats going on when they see people loading Dekes up at night cause thats usually when we are setting them out there or pickin them up.....i ask myself what the hell are these guys thinking...theres plenty of guys out there that dont care, and that puts a really bad taste in my mouth.....but you gotta see all these Threads about Dekes stolen, trailer broken into...i mean is it going to come down to us having to put our decoys in the safe with our guns or what.....i wish someone would try to steal my dekes....i keep 3 shells on my dresser right next to my head...i fear for the guy that enters my domain unarmed.........
My only Question is why....why leave you decoys outside...its not like these things are cheap....when im paying 120 - 160 for a half dozen pieces of plastic....you better be damn skippy im not letting them out of my sight...just like my calls, they go everywhere i do...hell i dont even leave them in the car when i go to the grocery store they are right there around my neck...call me crazy....but think about it...most of as have anywhere from 500$ to 1000$+ hanging off our lanyards, let alone our guns which arent cheap unless you shoot a Charles Daly like i do, and decoy spreads alone run in the thousands.....hell ive got 500 invested in dekes, and i only have 3 dozen or so...and you better be sure that i walk downstairs into the basement everyday to make sure they are still there....i couldnt imagine leaving them in a field for some A$$hole to take...after i paid my hard earned money for them......
that sux man and i feel for your loss, but you gotta look at it like this.......you cant throw a steak into a pack of wolves and not expect at least one of them to take a bite.....
Decoys are to Rednecks as Diamonds are to Girlfriends.......
just my $.02

They were onlly left from our morning hunt and we still pulled them out of the field and put them out of sight in some tall weeds like weve done all year.

I may sound like an a$$ for this. But most people probably have learned by example.......Grounds!!!!!!! Losing 10's of thousands of dollars of equipment.
I understand the ease of leaving your stuff out, but this is what happens. Chance you take every night.
Sorry to hear of your losses. I really hope all works out for all of you!

hunted cental illinois around Canton most of my life for geese and this sh*t happens every year. You should try branding them or something. just have everyone look out for them. Or just get them insured, it's pretty cheap. Hope you get them back man. Sorry.

man that sucks, i have never had this problem im lucky to live in a area where the hunters dont steal ****. lucky because i would be a prime target up to this year i havent had a truck and my dads old and dosent want to hunt as much as me so i would leave my decoys in my blind so he could just drop me off when yer young that system works well. but now that i got my truck dont have to worry about leaving them out.
