Thinking of going to N Dakota for the fall 06 season, we went to Manitoba this past October wanted to know how they will compare and if anybody had any tips or suggestions

i usually go to both, manitoba has been better for us the last couple of years though, but don't get me wrong we have had great hunts in north dakota but there are also more hunter there. i like them both. you can't go wrong with either, we tend to go to north dakota when the weater starts to get cooler, we never go when its warm, there is plenty of fields and water for that part, just be friendly with the locals and you will have a blast

Im sure that North Dakota is awesome for waterfowling sometimes, but I dont know much about it. My dad and I have been discussing making a trip to South Dakota. We are big pheasant hunters too, so we would probably waterfowl hunt in the mornings and go after roosters in the afternoon.

I would like to go to both too, I think if I had to choose it would probably be Manitoba though. If all goes well I will win the lotery and start the season in Manitoba and follow the birds south until the season is over

Manitoba was awesome but we heard they are going to "guide only" next year and we wanted to hunt on our own so it looks like we'll probally try N. Dakota. Thanks for the input.

Hey NWPAScott:
I live in North Dakota, I've been hunting here for 19 years and would have to say your best bet would be to hunt by the towns called Woodworth and Pettibone in the eastern side of ND. Or you could get a hold of me next year and maybe set something up.
