I have heard some quiet rumors on some of the other forums that FA has new improved full bodies coming out. Some have said they have the durability of a BF and the looks of a Dave Smith.

Is there any truth to this as it seems the info is pretty vague. I have looked everywhere I could to include the FA site and can't find anything. Are these being kept on the down low for now?? Any idea when the public may see them?

The rumor is true. The new decoys, look better than Dave Smith's. You can see a pic on the FA website. There is a new catolog out that has pics of the decoys. Guys theses decoys are gonna be worth the wait. I for one can't wait.

Oh yea..........I got 60 Avery's for sale. (3dz progrades, 1dz hunter, 1dz ffd lessers.)

Don't forget about the new duck blocks as well fellas!!! The floaters are friggin' sweet....6 head positions (including a squawker). The field mallards/blacks are awesome as well...

Be on the lookout this year boys...FA BRAND is gonna tear up the decoy scene!!!!!

Thanks for the website. I googled Final Approach and the site it brought me to must be the old one.

For me its hard to tell by that picture because I am color blind and there is a lot of blending with the background. I look forward to seeing some field pictures and stuff.

I know I know this is probablly the 50 million dollar question but any idea of when in 2007?

My season was pretty good. Had some great hunts with my daughter and my wife got out as well. Killing birds while she is pregnant. Man I love her!! Went down to MS for 6 weeks for the NCO Academy so that took a chunck out of the season but I still manged to get a few hunts in when I got back. Seriously looking forward to the spring snows!!

Also we started a chapter of Delta Waterfowl here in Minot so been working on getting donations and stuff for that. Its our first fund raiser so its pretty exciting. The FFA made a bunch (or they are still in the process) of hen houses so we will get those up this spring as well.

How about you. How was your season?

Well I finally stole the new 2007 FA product catalog, from Greg. The FA Last Pass HD Field Honkers are sweet. The field mallards, look better than anything on the market. Can't wait to get these bad boys in my trailer. FA is coming out this year, swinging.

OKAY fellas.....

Thanks Mark! Any idea when more pictures will be released. The one on the FA page does nothing for me since I am color blind and it blends with the background. Maybe some field pictures or something with out all the background blending. Thank you!!

Guys, I know who the carver of the new decoys is. His name is Marty Hanson and he is from my neck of the woods in Minnesota. He is currently one of the very best carvers in the US. He has been carving since he was a young teen and he is a great guy!

Here is his website to see his work: www.hansondecoys.com

This is not spam I am just a fan of Martys, FA, & Folies.

Thanks,

Guys I got to hold the new decoys today.

What is your guys opinions of the bases? Motion bases are fine but I like something that is easy to put out and pick up in all kinds of weahter. Low maintenance is good. Do you think they will be a good base.

The geese look dam good! But I still like our avery FFD's. I just like the full flocking even though you have to be more carefull with them.

Tripp_kilntime_Carraway
02-09-2007, 10:02 AM
I think you are gonna like the bases. The "funnel" at the bottom of the decoy is so much easier to find. It is a simple drop and go.

Got my FA Brand catalog yesterday in the mail.....AWESOME! There's some really nice stuff in there......

The Price sheet that came with my catalog is as follows for the decoys

FA Last Pass HD Field Honkers - 6 pack - 252.99
Feeder pack of 4 - 172.49
Gunners HD Field Mallards 6 Pack - 137.99
Feeder Pack of 4 - 114.99

All RETAIL Prices......

I like the looks of the the new FA goose fullbodies. I see the stand is a single stake system. Is there going to be something similar to a ring base as well that will work on hard ground. That stake won't work when the ground freezes. Half our season is with frozen ground. The decoy looks like a winner to me but I hope they've thought of frozen ground.
I know some people bring a drill to the field but I'm not doing that as many of you would probably agree with me.

Long Phillips head Screw Driver and a hammer gets it done everytime......but theres no height guessing with the stands like the GHGs....

sorry guys i love my GHGs...

but the new FAs....do look good.......

Yeah they looked great but $500 a dozen broke my wallet just lookin at the price. Hope that's not right.

Mark Spence
02-11-2007, 10:37 AM
I don't think you will see them at $500 a doz.....from what I have heard, retail, you should see them somewhere around the $400 - $420 a dozen mark.

Yea I also heard $400 a dz. That pic looks like it was taken with the heads not flocked.

Rob, My computer has crashed. I called the camera company to get the software to get the pics off my camera. They sent me the wrong one. Believe me, I want to get your mug and gregs mug off my camera. LOL. Tell you what, send me your address and I will take them to CVS and either print them or get them on a disk.

They look great but for the price I would stick with FFD's.
