If its money you are worried about I would go with a Meatgrinder. If your worried about quality go with a Strait meat Honker

Haven't bought one yet but the DMM has gotten praise from all that have tried it. I have a TR and 2 SMM. You just cant go wrong with any of them. Go to your local store and blow all of them and make your decision.

Yea just get out there and try them out, you will find the one you like. The acrylics all run $125 for duck calls. You can get a legend for $40 but it is a poly carb and is only guaranteed for a year, unlike their acrylic brothers which carry a life time guarantee.

I do have a Dead Meat Mallard and love it. You can get pretty loud with it when you need to and very quiet with it also. Iowamigr8tor is right though stop into a store and give them a whirl. Maybe a Legend would work out for you. It's not that expensive and it's a very good sounding call. Check out the on-line catalog to see the various styles and colors.

For myself I use the SMM and the DMM the most I have all four calls ( SMM, DMM ,TR ,LG,) And I find the Dmm the most versitle, the Smm is ALITTLE louder, the legend just seems too sticky for my me and the TR is kind of just a finishing call for me cuz its soft and quiet.... but the other guys are right--- DIFFERENT STROKES FOR DIFFERENT FOLKS... but if I were to buy just one call it would be hands down the DMM.

I dont have a legend but the best advantage that is has it the nasally tone of an old hen mallard.

I am with smoke SMM. I love mine. I use the double reed, I catch alot from my buddies, but it always puts meat on the table. Must work pretty good with all the black ducks we shot this year.

Duck Call:
If money is a factor, go with the Legend. If you want to go high dollar, the DMM is a good starter because of it's versatility.
Goose Call:
Again, if money is an issue, the Meat Grinder is easy to blow, sounds great and has called in many many geese. If you want to go top shelf, you can't go wrong with the SMH.
