I was talkin to my buddy the other day, all he blows is a cheap flute and he was givin me hell about how much money I spent on calls. He called it an addiction.
I got to thinkin, ever since I have picked an SMH in September I just want more, not just Foiles (sorry guys) but everytime I hit up Bass Pro I spend all my time tryin out every call I can get my hands on. I've even made a few wood calls on my lathe. Calling geese is all I think about now, I'm still not a good caller by any means I don't think, but it doesn't seem to matter
Anybody else have this issue? (I can't call it a problem cause I think its awesome)

I know how you feel. Got my first Foiles call when I bought my Wareagle Boat, been hooked ever since. I have 4 Foiles goose calls and 3 duck calls, plus all the other ones. Everyone says how many do you need, and i say everyone Foiles comes out with. There a worse addiction.

I would have to agree I got my first call in Oct. and since then I've got 2 more started with a meatgrinder then SMH then MH now i just traded my SMH for a HPH figure this summer I'll get a foiles duck call or 2. Mayb we should start our own support group Foiles Ahalloics Annonymous (FAA)

We could have our own 14 step program one step for each call each time you buy a call reach another step hit step 14 then it's official your a complete Foiles Ahollic.

I don't think it is a bad problem at all. I have herd as many of you have. Do you really need that many calls. My reply is you can't have to many. I have 6 Foiles calls and will probably have more before next season. Also going to have supporting my sons habbit. At only 9yrs old he is already wanting a Foiles call. He has some duck and goose calls, but now he wants a nice one.
welcome to foilesoholics we meet every tues at 7:00pm byob

Personally i dont look at it as an addiction....i look at it as an Obsession.....i started out with a used SMH i bought off a Flute caller who couldnt figure it out...( couldnt stop flipping his tounge ) that was last Feb.....Spent all summer Doing basic clucks and honks, next came the MH, i hocked a junk car to get that one...lol next was the DMM, picked it up off a guy in the yard sale who couldnt get it to stop stickin, i guess if he would have known that all you had to do was make the dimples a little deeper, problem solved, next was the Legend Double i picked up at Cabelas in Hamburg, on sale...looked good, why not, then came the MG, and the SMM, MG still got, dont really like it but its ok, the SMM i traded to another Foiles Aholic for another SMH, which i love dearly, umm yeah i think thats about it....Next on my list would have to be a Showtime, then TR, then SMM, then i start all over again lol....got a mostly Max4 and Smoke Lanyard now, but ever since i got that Ivory SMH, ive been wanting to build A Ivory or Ivory Combo lanyard.....yeah i guess you could call it an addiction....i guess my girl calls it an Obsession...Im Sure if Foiles Himself Read this Post it would Prolly put a Big Ole Smile on his face.....Im Sure hes gratefull for All of us.... 14 step prgram and all.

Double Legend....Gateway Call....SMH....hooked for life...Then comes the Deadmeat....now my eight year old son is using the legend and yelling "Take'em Boys"every chance he gets!! Saturday afternoons we put on the Fallin Skies Series and get the Max4 around the coffee table in the living room....wife makes me bring home the foam earplugs from work...my daughters want to know if Foiles will bring out a girls line of colours...

I have to agree with dropem its an obsession. I got my first Foiles call last Feb. and now I have the SMH, HPH, MH, and TR. Plan on buying another SMH (everyone knows you cant have just one SMH) and either a DMM or SMM this Feb. Thats plan A then plan B is all wood MH. Now as far as goose hunting goes thats an addiction. Still laugh every time my brother and I finally make it to where we set up. Its about 1/2 mile back in. We have to walk in. That doesnt sound far until you pull wagon through a muddy field. The wagon that I have can fit 3 1/2 doz. full bodies on two layout blinds and two blind bags. As soon as we make it to our spot we are usually outa breath from pulling this contraption and the first thing out of our mouth is usally " I still think we need more decoys this just isn't enough". But there is nothing better to be obsessed with or addicted to.

addiction........naw a way of life :D just hooked up my second bag for the day and its going in my veins as we speak........just cant shake the habit

I hear ya!
I have 7 acrylic calls right now! Both by RNT and Foiles!
I love them. Buying the first one was the hardest. After that it just gets easier and easier!

Definitely crooked. And speaking of which I got pulled over last week on Saturday night, my buddy and I were headed in from the goose field and the cop said we were swerving. Blowing a meatcutter while driving'll do that to ya i guess . . .

Not trying to be the one up type of guy. I am not Foiles staffer but I think I may be the record holder of buy Foiles calls. I think I have bought over 50 calls to date. Sold most on ebay but still have my favorites. The best part is Ebay.
You can buy a used call now until July for 70-110 bucks. Use it til our season closes and then after our season closes mid December sell it on Ebay for enough to cover free shipping. Free use of the best calls.
I LOVE this Country!

Speaking of getting pulled over I haven't been yet with my goose call but I was getting ready to go elk hunting one year blowing my grunt tube in the passenger seat with my cousin driveing next thing you know we are getting pulled over the cop tells us get out of the car he thinks we've beeen smoking dope I went to pick up my grunt tube to show him and explain and he yells at me keep your hand where i can see them next thing you know we are spread eagle on the hho of his car getting patted down then he searches the car and finds my grunt tube an decides I was telling the truth and lets us go it was funny afterword and I'm sure the people driving by got a good show.

similar story...well stories...i got pulled over for suspicion of illegal drugs because i was blowing my goose call and had to have my car searched and then he finally believed me and then one of my buddies was actually smokin weed and used a goose call for his excuse but he ended up getting caught anyways cause a goose call usually doesn't let out smoke and make everything smell like weed when you blow on it
