Back in August their were a couple threads on this. Anybody still doing it? Did it really work? I know there was a comment about the reed being on the call right. If it was not then the call would wear in wrong? I would assume since all I have is Foiles goose calls this would not be a problem.
Another question. I am waiting for my DMM to arrive. Anybody do this with a duck call or are worn in guts not good in duck calls like their good in goose calls.

honestly where its gettin towards the end of everyones seasons i would just take the off season and do it right by blowing it by yourself and gettin it to work how you want it to work...there's no reason why you shouldnt be able to do this with all the time till next year then you and your call can become one haha

Like was said before, the vaccum thing can be done, but to me they just don't wear right, tried once, won't do it again. As far as the insert of a duck call, no, that is not the same case. The tone board will not wear as a set of guts are to wear. Nor do you want to take large amounts of the toneboard off with sand paper.....it will have big time effects. Hope this helps some.....let us know what you think of the DMM!!!

JUST PRACTICE WITH THE CALL DUDE... WHAT ELSE YOU GOT TO DO.
IF OYU DON'T BLOW IT' YOU WON'T REALLY KNOW IF YOU LIKE IT WHERE IT IS WHEN IT GETS THERE(if that makes sence)

I figure it like this....
Either you can learn how to Blow the Call, by breaking it in yourself.....
Or
Your Vaccum can learn how to blow the call....and you will still be scratchin your head...
id hate to have to drag my shop vac into the field everytime i wanted to shoot some geese.....i think i would get a little heavy,
Do Vaccums come in Max4 ????????

I know how to blow the call. Maybe not great enought to win comps but I think I fooled a canada or two this season!
The vacuum thing was supposed to be a "quick breakin" . The way I understood it was 4 hours on the vacuum equalled 15 hours of blowing it yourself.
As far as time well most of my time right now has been with the family (3 kids and a pregnant wife), studying for E-7 (if I make that just think of how many more calls I could buy), getting decoys ready for the spring, pimping people for our Delta Banq this month,...but I still do blow on the calls. Just not enough to get to the comp level.
As far as the DMM I am anxiously awaiting its arrival. With 13 Foiles goose calls and only 1 duck I figure the duck calls need to catch up. My credit card has not been charged yet so it may be on back order. Either way its a Foiles call so I know it will be well worth the wait!!!
Finally thank you for all the very honest opinions. I won't do the vacuum. I will just keep blowing away. I will say I don't think anyone thought this bad of the vacuum trick last time it was posted.
