compliment call

What's the best call to compliment an acrylic SMH? I was thinking along the lines of a wood HPH or Showtime...any advice?

There is many. A wood HPH would be a nice additon, even a wood MH. I would also consider the CCC. The CCC is a call that seems to be over looked by alot of people. A CCC is on my lanyard at all times right next to my SMH during the hunting season. Its an awesome sounding call.

My impulse reply is "yes" on the wood HPH. It's loud (especially in acrylic), fast; and, in terms of being goosey, very naughty. For these reasons, a wood HPH is almost a must on a goose lanyard, especially if you do any hunting over water.

Nathan is right; however, in that there are many other models which compliment the SMH and it won't hurt to look at the others.

If the HPH is the love affair and you're torn between woods, it doesn't matter. I favor walnut, but they're all mellow and goosey.

i agree with the other 2 replies, you have a tough choice ahead of you. the showtime would be great, the ccc would be a great choice and or a wood or acrylic hph. i guess myself if i had only one choice i would go with the ccc, it will give you a higher pitch and more volume... hope this helps, but there is no wrong choice, they will all complement your smh.good luck with your choice.......................................R

I think it depends on where you do most of your hunting at if your hunting big fields or open water a showtime would be great but if you are hunting smaller fields or ponds i would look at a market hunter.

Like the others have said the CCC is a sassy little call. Very responsive and it has that Crack that every goose caller is looking for. You can go from screaming on it to gettin goosey and low in a heartbeat. I also think that you would like the Cackler. Very very fast call. Super easy to blow so tearing into the migrators with it is way easy on your lungs. Both of these calls would compliment your SMH very well.

+1! The Showtime might be another nice option. Very fast, loud and versatile.

Any number of our calls are going to compliment that call. After all, the SMH is simply one of the MOST popular calls out there. Remember the key to this decision is what you like. The sound is really effected most by the tune of the reed not the shape of the call.

On a side not.......the call that compliments my SMH the best is a Strait Spec.....

+1 on the wood Market Hunter. Love that call. HPH in wood is also another great call. Never tried the CCC but planning to in the future. Now if we could only get Mr. Foiles to make a CCC in wood
