I was true blue to winchester for years. They have a great product. In the course of all those years I had over 6 diferent pr guys there!! that tells something with a turnaround like that! well now they get some young hot shot fresh outa school who wants to send You ammo 2 days after season starts and half what You want or need! I NEVER once charged them or received a dime from them for all the advertising we did for them. Federal is twice the company and has twice the product! Buy and use FEDERAL!!! thanks Jeff

gotta love the fresh out of college guys that wanna make name for them self.... we dropped two brands here at or store due to those guys..... i beleive that benelli did change rep groups as well

I hate to say it but Winchester Ammo went down the tubes almost 10 years ago. I shot Winchester for almost 30 years in compitition but they changed there production standards (probably to save money). We have been using Federal in 12 & 20 ga. compition and Remington in 28 ga. & .410 br. We use Federal, it is by far the best for waterfowl but Kent Carteage makes a reliable shell for a reasonabele price also.

has anyone else tried patterning black cloud?

i tried it out of my bps and compared to the federal reds i wasn't impressed. the reds gave me a very consistent pattern. the black cloud, not so much. the black cloud through a modified choke had a pattern comparable to the reds with a full choke. the black cloud was denser, but had a lot of flyers, some of which were a few feet from the center of the pattern. I am assuming that the flyers are the 'flite stopper' pellets because of their shape. if these pellets are not in your effective pattern why have them in there at all?

the patterning was done with a bps with factory chokes at 40 yards.

don't get me wrong, i love federal, i probably wont shoot anything else.

anybody else have any input?
