my best hunt had to be the saturday before christmas. had four groups of hunter within a mile of eachother. we had one group in the same field as us and we were the only group that shot birds. a limit of them to add. this was awesome. not to mention haveing three friends sharing the experience.

Best shot on a bird this year- That would have to be the double-banded honker I shot. It was flying away from me and it fell dead at 80 steps, my steps. I have 2 witnesses also, kingkilla and jclasen0124.
Best hunt- All the hunts in colorado were awesome. Otherwise, I'd have to say opening duck when 4 of us had our 24 ducks in about 20 minutes.

My good friend and I were hunting geese earlier this year. We took some geese out of a flock and he loaded up again fast and took one more shot at the flock. He dumped a goose at 76 yards with one shot. I could not beleive it. That goose was dead the second I heard the boom. It had a hang time before it hit the ground like I have never seen before. It was one of the best or luckiest shots I have ever seen and will ever see. We both shoot HD Federal loads BB 12g 3.5 inch

The best hunt this year was the first two birds taken on opening day. Both were banded and one was a reward band

Best kill: Had a pair of teal come screaming in, shot one and had to shot the other one over my shoulder. Shot a double before my partner even picked up his gun. Went to pick em up - a drake and a hen and the hen was banded - from Alaska.

best shot for me was watching my 13 yr old son shoot 3 mallards during his first duck hunt (different flocks) and turn to me at end of the hunt and say "dad this duck hunting is more fun than anything"

Best shot was my first solo ringneck, i only shot and it fell and i got that thing to lock and my was my heart slamming. Best hunt was that day killing rinknecks in the afternoon. 8)
best shot for me was the last day of the regular season 4 minutes before shut down, had a flock some what headed my way. gave em a couple honks and bingo right for me, needless to say had the dog loaded in the truck and gun all cased up! i had just enough time to pull the gun throw one round in it as they were right on top of me, went for the lead bird at 60 yds one shot one kill and a 1008 series band.

One of my best hunts for the season was when we shot 18 birds in about 15 minutes. It was a windy snowy day and they came in hard and fast. There was 5 of us shooting. We took 8 out of one flock! I think my best shot was that morning when I pulled a double on geese! But I think the best day all around was the day we shot 38 birds and 4 of our hunters were from 12 to 17 years old. They went home with huge grins on their faces!!!!!

Mine was opening day youth hunt the first duck that roles in was a wood duck drake, crushed him about at 10yrds, but it turned out to be banded! Another one we were hunting at a big public bay on the border out the city and it was cold but we had 1 hen mallard come in shot her, and 1 more drake that flared about 60yrds approx, and i shot and got 1 BB in the neck and that was it. It rocked!

We had alot of great hunts this past season but if I had to choose it would be either an afternoon hunt in the early season when we shot our five man limit of forty geese in twenty minutes and they kept coming afterwards or the last day of our duck season when we were field hunting and shot our twenty four ducks in ten minutes and pulled down twenty geese by 8:30 am.The swarms of mallards kept landing in the decoys even if we didn't cover up.It was truly awsome and it was one of my buddies first time shooting a limit of any thing let alone a limit of both ducks and geese. Two of the geese were even banded!

id say most memerable not best was the only time of the season me and my buddy decieded to use a boat, we went to a private access and our half of the lake had an inch to an inch and half of ice, made it 1/3 of the way to open water and sheared a pin, so had to paddle back, got back we made a 25 foot open water hole put 2-3 dozen GHG mallards and 4 geese. rite away two drakes come screamin in my buddy yells "casserole em" and i drop both em before he gets his gun up! lol if you havent seen a mallard bounce and skip off ice your missin out quite finny! :D

best duck hunt would have to be an hafter school hunt where the front started to move in at about 4:00pm and we shot our 12 mallards by 4:15 but best goose hunt would have to be that last day of the year when we killed 10 honkers and the last group evreybody but me had there calls put away and they leave it up to me to call and the geese lock up comeover about 25-30 yards and we droped the last 3 we needed.

my best hunt this year was probably on Christmas Eve morning, hunting geese on some private property. Had birds all over us but kept skirting the deekes, just a little to far for a shot. After about an hour of this with non stop flocks comming in they all decided to fly right over us 30 yards up. There was close to 200 hundred honkers. We raised up, and I shot my first triple; 3 shots 3 birds down, and walking to my last goose there lay a band upon his leg. Gotta love it, my first honker band, and an early Christmas Present from Santa ;)
my best day would have to be between the day me and a budy walked an hour to get to a little cove on some public land we had seen the birds flying over, about sun up we had a hen and drake sail in and we dropped both, i popped the drake and he got the hen, the drake was banded. The other time me and another budy were hunting a public pound and right about sun up we had a guy show up to hunt, he had his wife with him and wouldn't come to the edge of the timber to hunt with us so we had to share the pound. While he was putting out his deeks we had three woodies come in, two land about eight yards to my right and the other to my budys left, rolled one of the woodies up on the water and as the second one went to cut in front of me i rolled it up to, it crossed paths with the wodie my budy dropped and they went skipping acrosse the water.

id have to say my best shot was on a hunt earlier that week when i downed a goose at 60+ yards with 2 shot...all luck!!!
i wish i could say it was when i shot a band but i didnt kill one this year:(

Best overall hunt was 4 guys, 32 bird limit. Every bird was shot within in 15 yrds. We had over 200 birds commit right in our faces throughout the morning along with 150-200 mallards that we could not shoot landing all over us. Best shot of the year was one I made with one hand out the side of the blind on a bird that was pushing 50 yrds, still do not know how I hit it but it fell a ton of bricks.

Best hunt was up in Saskatchewan (no big suprise) we had snows tornadoing in. I shot 21 shells consecutively, while they kept comming in. Started with the gun loaded with three, after I unloaded I put another in the chamber and shot it, but they were still comming. 5 guys shot just under 100 rounds in about 90 seconds, with close to 60 birds on the ground.
My best shot or shots, was a triple on a group of 8 specs that came right over me. Dropped the lead bird, hit the bird to its left, then spun around and got a third.

The topper for me was in our early season 15 goose limit. Set up on a golf course. 12 birds working from left to right about 30 yards out. I pulled and old markethunter trick and lined up 2 but dropped a Scotch triple. Ended that volley with 7 birds 5 shots.
Another day in the early season my friend and I had 28 birds down and packing up. One lone dummy was comming in overhead. I broke open my 20ga Perazzi 32" 3/4oz of hand rolled 4 Hevi-shot dropped 1 shell in. Just as he hit his apex bang stone cold roll, my dog was running aloff and we were like HERE HERE. She was looking at that goose like a catcher trying for a foul ball. She missed it by a foot or so but that bird hit the mud and left a crater, covered her with mud. I still laugh at the sound of it the hitting the ground. You could just see her eyes.
Then there was NAA that's for a later date.

Seven of us were hunting on public land this year. It was about 2 min. into shooting hours. We had a green head lite in the decoys. One of my buds started to raise up but I stopped him. There were more coming in. There were so many we were getting crapped on. 200 hundred mallards filled the hole. About 20 sec. we were thru with 7 limits. Pack it up boys!!

My best shot all time. Shot the head off and it flew about 20 yards off the duck. As I walked over to see the separated head in the light fresh snow I found its heart amongst a blood spayed snow.
FYI, never even damaged the birds breast meat so I could eat it.

My best hunt ever bad to say was a month after my grandmother past away in 2001. It took longer for me and my father to pic decoys up and put out than the hunt lasted. We limited out in ducks and geese in about 20 min. Ever thing fell into place with that hunt with out a hitch
