I've heard of using Herrons, egrets, crows, and even cows to give ducks a false sense of security what's yalls favorite?

We mainly use some geese. I was thinking about getting a Heron decoy but we have them everywhere around here.

if you are where the birds want to be then i dont think you need confidence decoys...but if i need to i usually use some goose decoys...SLEEPING GEESE...thats when there the most comfortable with there surroundings right?

I've put a crow out before, but it was more for the laughs.... I'm buying a heron and two swans for next year.

Well when hunting a WMA with a bunch of morons sky busting in other blinds its a little difficult to get birds to commit when they've been sitting on the refuges for a month and seen and heard every tom dick and harry in this half of the state.

We usually just put a couple cases of beer out and see what happens...if we go home skunked at least we still have the beer!

With everyone of my geese spreads, even though we dont have many snow geese around, i always put out about 5-6 of them.

I can def. relate to the sky busters at a local marsh fairly close to here. Its okay though. We got us some serious ducks there anyway. I hunted there 5 times and we killed 58 ducks in those days.
Oh and as for the crow decoys...I don't need 'em. Me and Al went hunting on a river one day. I got 2 honks, a greenhead and 8 BONUS CROWS!!! No decoys, called em in with my mouth. Prolly woulda killed some more that flared cause Al was laughing to hard.

I like coot decoys. There always around. I usually use 3-4 daily. Also a little trick on the pintails I've used is a goose call. I know it's weird but it works. I use the pintail whistle but tends to result in a further shot. just my 2 cents.

my favorite is swans there are a lot of bird watchers in my area who throgh a ton of corn out and theres always swans in those areas so when we want to kill ducks we use swan decoys they work great, as for using the goose call for pintail we dont have pintail but we use goose calls alot for black ducks
