I am thinking of getting a new Honda Oddessy. My problem is I will only buy a made in the USA vehicle. Preferably a union made one.

Do you know if it is Made in the USA?

Are they Union made?

Please do not turn this thread into a union non-union thread. It is my money and I am stupid lets get that out of the way. I just hope the guy working in a plant can buy more hunting gear with my purchase.

Theres actually a Honda USA corp....and there are actually a lot of Hondas made right here in america.....the Japs figured it was easier to make them here than to make them in Japan and Ship them over concidering all their cars a RHD, and US cars are LHD, so they basically had two factories to make the same car..........pays to be in the Tuner industry i guess......love my RICE BURNER cheaper than gas

We arent cool anymore....

Heres my take on the whole deal. If I can spend my American dollar on a vehicle that has proven for YEARS that it is superior in all aspects to any "american" vehicle why wouldnt I? Would you say that Honda or any other Japanese automaker supports less American jobs than GM or Ford? What country are most of the Parts for the big 4's vehicles made?

Dont get hung up on where they are made, thats a small percentage of jobs created by an automaker, especially with robot assembly lines. Look at dealership employees, parts house guys, the aftermarket (creates TONS of jobs right here in America), racing, technicians and more. There are many more jobs created by an automaker that are outside of it's own company than it ever creates within.

How many Fords are made in the US anymore?

Spend your dollar wisely and get the most you can, if its built in American thats fantastic, if it aint dont feel bad. My next truck will be a Nissan and I have 4 Japanese bikes in the garage. You cant go wrong with anything built by Honda...no matter where it;s put together.

i'll second you on that kelly........nothing against honda's. and those titans are awsome. myself being in the auto industry for over 20 yrs i still dont know where most of the stuff is made. but your right, whether foreign or american made its the quality and reputation that matters.......

You see I like to support our local hardware store etc. My Friends think I am nuts for bringing my cars to the dealer for tune ups and fixes, but I say heck I am helping another working American earn a good wage enough to raise a family on and have some good beinfits. It my money and I would rather pay it to my fellow USA brothers and help them out.

Like I said it is my money and I am stupid with it, my choice.

Now can anyone tell me if they are made in the USA and are union made?

As a 4 Time honda owner...all i can say is Quality....they last forever..the paint on the bodies is top notch....and if they made a truck with a V-8 in it id prolly have one of them too.....so it looks like the Titan is at the top of my wish list....but im with Kelly, and With Barry been in the auto maintnence industry for three years now...most of the vehicles they come out with today are top of the line...theres very few autos out there that arent worth their weight in gold....i really dont think it matter whats on the outside....if it gets you where you need to go....with the least amout of $$ wasted in gas then hey....drive it.......i love my 93 honda hatch...it wont tow a trailer but with the backseats folded down i can get 2 dzn FBs in it and 2dzn Shells no problem...just have to strap my layout to the roof, but hey DO what you GOTTA do right...........cant kill geese with a pillow.....

Brother I;m the same way. I'm tellin ya though when it comes down to American jobs the Japanees auto makers create more than anyone else regardless of where that car is made. Now I'm going to find out about that Honda for ya.

As of 2004 they were made in Ontario Canada and Lincoln Alabama. The engines are built in Ohio. If you go to buy one you can look at the sticker and see wich plant it was made in.

Cant tell you on the Union deal but I would dare guess that 99% of the autoworkers are still union arent they?

I know I'm thinking of going Honda or Toyota on my next full size truck although I know I will catch a bunch a **** for it. Right now I have a 2004 crew cab 1/2 ton Chevy with 80K miles and I put a tranny in it this year and now it has taken 3 quarts of oil and 2 gallons of water since Christmas  What the hell is that? Now we can't get 100K out of a truck without putting 3 grand into to keep it on the road. I wish I still had my 01 Duramax/Allison but it was only a std cab and I had a kid in the meantime.

I won't buy Ford or Dodge just because I grew up seeing my dad drive his Chevy day in and day out and beat the crap out of it. And guys, don't try to talk me into one of those because I just can't do it.

I may give GM one more chance now that they have the 100K warranty or I will go back to a Duramax/Allison crew cab $$$$$$. But I will definately look into the Hondas and Toyotas.
