Just got a DMM yesterday at Bass Pro in single reed, they were out of doubles. I sounds good now but when I first picked it up I sounded like sH$$.(I'm a little rusty) After Everyone was done covering there ears, I decided I'm gonna blow a Showtime, But they were all sold out. I was hoping to entice someone listening to buy a Foiles call, like I did last time I was there.

So I picked up a HPH and before I started blowing I looked around to see how many people were around reaching for their ears because I was rusty at blowing a duck call so I could just imagine what they were thinking I was going to sound like on a goose call.   There were 4 people standing around watching when I started by the time I was done there was 12-15 guys standing around or poking there heads around corners to come and see what was going on. There you go guys,Foiles calls work excellent for calling geese and really good for locating or bringing in lots of people.''

The guy working there said'' Man I can tell you have been blowing goose calls for awile.'' I then said I'm no world champ, and not as good as I will be, but I sound o.k. He said he just bought a SMH and Is just learnin , I said'' Good choice.'' Remember Practice ,practice, practice. I started out on a flute and converted to short reed. The SMH is what I first leared on for a short reed. Hands down the easiest, best call Ive ever owned and still to this day have a couple of them on my lanyard. Good luck with it buddy.

Was it a bourbon HPH ? I tried it at bass pro last weekend in Vaughn.. Same thing.. People crowded around, I almost bought it, if honey wasn't standing beside me. Then I jumped onto the RNT, and stuck the hell out of it.. (lol) and then tried the DMM, nice sounds chuckle with very raspy quacks.. It's a killer call for sure.

(IM _2424) Can't exactly remember how much they were in Vaughn, I think they are just a little over $100. The FA decoys look sweet I personally liked them over the big foots. Hope this helps. :D :D :D

The Showtime is more versatile becuase of the bigger bore exhaust....takes more skill to meter your backpressure than the SMH has more built in backpressure with the smaller exhaust....actually in the hands of a more novice caller the SMH is easier to be quick but no call is really quicker than another it is a tune job that does that.

Showtime is definitely louder and has more range to go deeper and high pitched...SMH is more middle ground goose. Own them both!!
