where to hunt early season.

where would be a good spot to go hunting in the early season in IL. Just looking for a few hunts. just want to see and work a few, maybe kill a couple. any info would help. thanks, josh

I think your best bet would be to get out and find some spots.

Knocking on doors is my best advice. If you have a local grange or feed store, inquire there. Never under estimate the ability of simple cup of coffee or a box of donuts to open doors to new spots. I make it a point to offer "sweat equity" to any landowner whose property I hunt. Chopping some firewood or mending a fence can sometimes insure you many years of great hunting. But don't wait until the season is upon us, start now.
