Our local Scheel's will be having a youth duck calling competition in a couple of weeks, and two of my kids (9 & 11) have expressed an interest in entering. I am not a competition caller, and am not familiar with competitions at all; but since they are showing the desire - I think it would be a great experience for them (as well as a lot of fun for them to try).

Hopefully, this will be more of a "fun thing" than a serious/expert comp.; but I don't know for sure. So, my question(s) is what would be the best source for a routine for them to do or what should I have them focus on? I'd appreciate any advice or recommendations that you have.

Im a youth caller mostly for for contests in duck is alot of quacks and hails with chuckles mixed in its not really a set system for what to do what noises where. the biggest thing is if its a meat contest or not. The meat contests there is no loud ringing hails where a regular contest there is.
As far as a regular contest if its a stage contest make your hail long and loud and do it a like four times then quack and so on. hope this helped if you need any help pm me im willing to help youth like myself.

Well, my 9yr old son ended up coming in second in his very first competition. He is very excited about comps. - now - and wants to enter in the next one he can.

FMI was a sponsor for this event, so I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for supporting an event like this.
