Somehow this 15 minute limit took us all day to earn. Hunted until noon and left but the rest of the crew was sticking it out...so I left my spread and hit my list of honeydos and returned to pick up dekes about 20 min. before quitting time and the first flock was locking up. I had my 5 year old Ty along and wasn't sure he'd want to get out (it was cold) and he told my wife he might stay in the truck because daddy's shotgun is loud) but he watched the first gang get hammered and said "come on daddy get your gun" we got in my blind together in time to join the best 15-20 min. I have seeen in a long time. Wave after wave of geese in flocks of 10-40 streaming into the spread so fast we had geese littered everywhere and more coming...Ty took it all in and got to see very big flocks work and drop right into the guns.....he fetched up a couple geese and got to watch as another awesome display as literally gang after gang of geese and then waves of ducks buzzed us and locked up as we picked up (especially cool for him to see those widgeon)....could not have been a better experience for him. He even got out of the truck when we were picking up and helped round up the dekes when I knew he was frozen in the 19 degree weather. Big thanks to all of you guys for accomodating my son....that was a hunt i won't forget.
I may have some pics on the camera I'll add them when I get a chance.
