Hey guys..... I was wondering what the big diference was between the HPH and the MH COMPARED to the SMH??? I am new to the art of goose calling and have a SMH,, so I just wanted alittle info on those other calls. THANKS IN ADVANCE.

I have the HPH and the SMH both of which I just recently purchased. The HPH is much easier for me to work (faster and takes less air volume) but has a higher pitch than the SMH. It appears to me so far the HPH is the better of the two to learn on but the SMH sounds more goose like. Both calls have their place on my lanyard for different reasons and applications. same could be said for the meatcutter that I am currently purchasing. Each has their own characteristics otherwise foiles would only be re-inventing the wheel with each new call he manufactures. Other, more skillful folks on here will probably state that the tuning of these calls changes their pitch etc and they are right, Its just that I am lucky to get mine back to original tuning after cleaning the guts. Sorry this was so long winded but the coffee is working this morning. Good luck and rock on!!

gcs71 nice to see someone else from Ohio on here. Good choice on getting some Strait Meat calls. I don't have the HPH but have played around with my buddy's call. I plan on buyin a wood one when I get the funds. From what I've noticed is it's meant to be higher pitched and faster than the SMH. In my opinion the HPH is in between the MH and SMH. But a lot of that has to do with how they are tuned. And gcs71 if you need help on tuning your calls just post up I live in Fairfield county and work in Hilliard and there are many people on here that can give you pointers.
