Legend is a great call but i would get it as double reed to start...sounds a little more Duckier.....if you have the money spring for any of the calls in acrylic, DMM, SMM, TR, SS any of them will have you putting ducks on the ground in no time........callin ducks 2.0 might not hurt either....

I don't own any Foiles duck calls yet, but i've tried them all. The legend is a good starter call, but it has its limits. The TR, SMM, DMM are all great calls if money isn't an issue. I'm saving for one of those right now actually.

depends on wht you want to spend. in my opnion if you do alot of hunting. Get something that you can blow when you get the hang of it. In other words do buy something that your not gonna use when you master the call. I would however start with a double reed. i'd try the timber rattler. then you have a nice call and you can always sell it without any problems because it a hell of a call. just my 2 cents.

They are all good calls I would go w/ any of them except for maybe the SS. DMM is the on I suggest more...in a double reed.

really it depends on how much your willin to spend. any of them would make a good starter. double reed to me is an easier starter call. so in my opinion no matter which one u go with you cant lose.

Yeah cash is the first factor. The best way to decide is to go to the store and blow them all. Decide for yourself, everyone calls differently, you should make that decision for yourself. However any of the Foiles line would be a great choice.

YEP! $ MONEY $ but dont spend money on all that other hunting stuff without having a good call. The call brings ducks. :)

We can list 100 different calls for ya....best advice for you is to get yourself to your local sporting goods store (Cabelas, Bass Pro, Sportsmen's, etc.) that carries high end duck calls and blow each call. See what call fits you...you are comfortable with the sound, the call is comfortable to your lips, the call is comfortable in your hand, etc. Everyone is a bit different..so you are gonna get a TON of different opinions on which duck call is the best starter call.
I will say this...typically, for a beginning caller, a double reed is much easier to get duck sounds out of. Once you have the doubel mastered, then you can move on up to the single reed. Or you can throw yourself right into the fire with a single reed. Again...the decision MUST be made by YOU and no one else!!!!
Good luck and THANKS for considering Foiles calls!!!!! Let us know what you end up with...and if we can help ya out...we will!!!!

I agree with Spence all the way, If you don't have the luxury of getting to some place where you can try them all, I would not hesitate to suggest a Wood legend in double reed. It is an awsome call that is still affordable, but you will want to keep it on your lanyard even after you get into the custom acryllic calls.

really you could start with a legend but personally i would just go for a TR. I mean why spend the money on a cheaper call when you know before long you are going to go for a more expensive call so why not just learn on a top end call. Although the Legend is a great call just my opinion!
