taxidermy do you do if profesionaly? if so did you teach yourself or did you go to a school for it? reason i ask is i finish high school this year well hopefully, and have been lookin to go somewhare for that theres a high demand in my area for it. and going to a "school" after high school would shut my mom up.

My dad was a world champion waterfowl taxidermist he showed my everything i know. He was self taught. let me tell you a little bit about professional taxidermist. Its hard to make a liveing just doing birds even if your really good you dont get enough birds for the price your worth. A few people do it but there not rollin in doe. There are alot of sshool, if you dont know any taxidermy thats the way to go.

Green Reaper

Yea i could  You and your buddys were just talking about judging people before you know them right! There is alot of things they take into consideration. Do you take your birds to him?

i wasnt judging anyone it was a question, but i was about to take a bird to him till i heard it would be 3yrs till i would get it back. and then my mom didnt want the goose in the freezer anymore. so i got rid of the goose cause i thought i would shoot a bigger one. but that never happened. also is it normal to charge 3-400 for a goose mount.

If your good you can get that, if it was flying i would charge more than that. I takes more time to do a big canada than a deer head and most people get 600 for deer. When it comes to taxidermy you get what you pay for.

nor'east, at finger lakes cc in canandaigua ny where i go, there is a real good taxidermy class for deer. A few of my buddies take those classes and they learned to do some good work. Don't know if you would want to take a class or just do some learnin on yourself
