when you say which decoys are you saying brand or style.

Brand: GHG
Style FB's or shells with motion bases/stakes

I like a mixture of motion and nonmotion. There are some decoys that you dont want to move. Like your lookers. I like to get as many feeders on motion stake that I can. When the wind is right, they come to life.

i have to agree with you about motion bases in the wind. they do look good. but that is what they are there for.

I like GHG FB's. Ducks and Geese. But for the geese they have to be at least pro grades.

Final Approach, DSD. You get what you pay for in decoys. Always have a few motion feeders mixed in.

For ducks: FA Brand and custom painted E. Allens

For geese: FA Brand Last Pass HD Decoys and DSDs

For ducks, in terms of style, I prefer a relaxed spread. Lotsa low head, no head feeders, dabblers and a hen squawker or two. We don't run big spreads for ducks around here...couple dozen at the most unless we are hunting the big water of Lake Erie.

For geese, in terms of style, again I prefer a relaxed feeding spread. Lotsa feeders, resters, sleepers, and walkers. I try to limit my uprights, but always have a few. As far as a ratio in a spread...I would say that I am about 50/50....meaning 50% feeders to 50% resters, sleepers, walkers, and uprights.

puddle ducks: GHG oversize series
diver ducks: GHG, Herters, and clorox bottles
geese full bodies: GHG hunter or pro series
geese shells: GHG pro series
geese floaters: GHG

the only thing about the GHG floaters is you dont want to hunt with them out of the box my 2 year old ones drove me crazy with the heads and after loosing about 5 heads in earley season i took all my decoys to my shop and melted the heads on works great now i love um.

I am slowly but surely going with 100% GHG, I have had the best luck with those over any decoys I've had. They're tough, don't leak and look the best. I can honestly say that I am through with Flambeau and Hard Core. They are junk and Hard Core is terrible with Customer service

I love my GHG decoys. I used to be a G&H guy but when greenhead gear came out, the realism of these decoys are second to none. The GHG fullbodies are as deadly as they come and you will not be sorry for getting them. So, GreenHead Gear all the way!!
