My lanyard

Im starting to make a lanyard in square braid. Ive noticed that i didnt start with enough cord. The remaing amount wont be enough to finish it. Is there anyway i can ad mor and make the lanyard still look good? How do i put in drops along the way and when i end up getting enough braided for main loop that goes around my neck how do i join two ends on a square braid? wow looks good, man you got some patience to be able to do that but it will be worth it, dont cover it with bands to quick :D

"Dont cover it with bands so quick" that would be a good problem. Yeah its a slow, tedious process.
