The mallard green is an awsome color. I have it on the barrel of my SMM and it looks really dark inside but when the light hits it, it looks like the head of a mallard drake. Great color. However I like to vary my color combos so mallard green is out, unless I can't make up my mind.

Haha yeah i know thats why im goin by myself so that way none of my buddies can talk me into buyin extras other than what im already plannin on gettin.

By the way hit that goose field ive been watchin this mornin killed 1 afternoon killed 3. we saw a ton of geese but um we spent half the mornin tryin to get my truck unstuck when switchin fields. Its time for me to invest in a 4 wheeler or a 4 wheel drive. Hittn the same field tomorrow.

Smoke,

Sounds like that field might pay off for you. I am huntin tomorrow, me and a buddy, we are takin my brothew-in-law, and nephew with us, they are from southern alabama, haven't seen to many geese, hopefully we can change that for them tomorrow. Will be headed south then, but hearin their are no geese down their.

There can't be many geese south just for the sheer number of geese we saw in braidwood in northern illinois yesterday. Like I said..we saw 200,000 easy. It was unreal. Those birds just new the deal. Havin' a foiles in the blind (cole) helps ya kill 'em though :)! The boy can call that's all there is to it.

I bet he can, I suspect that someday Hunter Grounds name will take a back seat to Cole Foiles. I have beard their are a lot of geese up their. Hopefully some of them will migrate south with me to finish up the southern zone season.

I think hunter will have a whole rack full of 2nd's one of these days. You can learn a lot about callin and when to call when you hunt w/ the right people. I'm a duck caller..that's what I do and feel comfortable w/. But I can handle a goose call..it's just more of when to call..how loud...and how aggressive to get. Cole, and the other strait meat prostaffer in the blind Scott Lovell, really were able to work birds nice and I just kind of followed their leads by immitating them. Even though those thousands of birds were smart up there, they should be fresh when they reach union and crab orchard :). There are still plenty of geese for the rest of the state!

I need to hunt with some of those guys, I am a goose caller, not a duck caller, and Have allways used flutes uptill now, I am trying to learn the SMH. I took it to work yesterday at the firehouse and was practicing a bit, I went out back and noticed a small group of about ten birds, flying due east about quarter mile north, so I started calling to them, the other guys where like yeah right geese aren't going to come to a guy with a call, (non hunters). Well I turned the birds and brought them over the firehouse at about 40 yards up, looking. Nexst time I will put out some decoys

I believe the fact that ya turned em over ya. I was w/ my pheance fishin' last summer and Jeff gave her a goose call and stuff to tool around on. She is decent on that SMH, and I watched her pull some locals from about 250 strait over the pond we were fishin' on. Those honkers were gettin' vocal! Those goose calls are second to none!
